The role
As a Service-Led, Public Sector - Business Development Manager, you will take ownership of large new business opportunities across the UK. You will identify prospects, understand their priorities and develop compelling service-led solutions that create clear value. Your responsibilities will include:
- Generating and converting new large business opportunities within Public Sector
- Researching target customers, uncovering their needs and creating compelling reasons to act
- Developing persuasive value propositions, proposals and presentations for senior customer stakeholders
- Building targeted prospect-engagement strategies across LinkedIn, email, telephone and industry events
- Working closely with subject-matter experts to shape solutions and progress opportunities through the sales cycle
- Creating and executing structured business plans with clear milestones and measurable outcomes
- Using CRM systems to manage pipeline activity, forecast performance and consistently achieve revenue and margin targets
- Sharing market insight, best practice and opportunity intelligence with the wider sales team
- Operating in line with company policies, compliance requirements and health and safety standards

This is a home-based role with UK-wide coverage, so flexibility to travel is essential.
What we’re looking for
You will be an experienced business-development professional with a strong track record of winning new business through consultative service or conceptual sales, ideally in the Public Sector. You will bring:
- Proven success in self-generated new business development, alongside converting qualified leads
- Experience selling services, solutions or complex propositions into customer organisations
- Experience of selling to the Public Sector with an understanding of framework agreements.
- Strong sales methodology and the ability to guide opportunities through complex decision-making processes
- Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills, including the ability to make complex concepts clear and engaging
- A creative, customer-focused approach to combining services and products into compelling solutions
- Commercial acumen, market awareness and the ability to adapt your approach across sectors
- Strong planning, organisation and resilience in a target-driven environment
- Confidence developing business plans and managing activity against defined milestones
- Strong IT capability, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM systems; training will be available where needed
- A full UK driving licence
