About You

We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated sales professional who thrives on taking ownership of their own success. This is an opportunity for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset, the resilience to overcome challenges, and the drive to consistently deliver outstanding results.

At McCarthy Stone, you'll do more than sell homes - you will help people make one of the most significant decisions of their lives, guiding customers with empathy, confidence, and professionalism as they begin the next chapter of their retirement.

You will work across our developments in York and the surrounding areas, supporting customers across multiple locations and building strong relationships within the local community. Flexibility, organization, and the ability to work independently across a varied portfolio of developments are essential.

We are seeking an individual with a proven track record in customer-focused, target-driven sales, ideally gained within estate agency, housebuilding, or a similarly consultative sales environment.

You will be commercially astute, highly self-sufficient, and comfortable working independently, taking accountability for generating opportunities, managing your own pipeline, and delivering against ambitious sales targets.

Success in this role requires someone who naturally builds trusted relationships, quickly understands customer needs, and balances commercial outcomes with genuine customer care. You'll be a confident communicator and negotiator, resilient in the face of setbacks, motivated by achieving results, and committed to delivering an exceptional customer experience from first enquiry through to completion.

If you are someone who enjoys working autonomously, is energized by achieving targets, builds lasting customer relationships, and has the determination to make things happen, we'd love to hear from you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
