Overview

Music wouldn't exist without the work of songwriters, composers, and publishers. We're here to represent them and make sure that they are paid for their work. After more than a century in the industry, we continue to innovate as a world-leading organisation.

The Role

The Commercial Department at PRS for Music is the customer-facing and revenue-generating arm of one of the world’s leading music copyright collectives. We are a UK-based team of over 40 individuals who currently generate in excess of £650 million per year for our members through licensing music usage to a wide variety of industries, including:

  • Major and independent record labels
  • Music festivals
  • Broadcasters
  • Computer game platforms and publishers
  • Increasingly Web3 and the Metaverse

We are currently undergoing a dynamic and exciting Sales Transformation process that will result in us delivering in excess of £1 billion a year to our members by 2026. We are looking for new colleagues to help us reach our goals. We love our music and we love the challenge and responsibilities that go with delivering what is due to UK songwriters, composers, and music publishers. We want to bring in talented individuals who can help us achieve significant growth by selling the benefits of music into the marketplace.

Responsibilities

As our Sales Consultant in the Audio team, you will be working with Commercial & Internet Radio, Podcasts & Audiobook licences, and other Audio schemes. Some of your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Act as the main point of contact for licensees, ensuring they have the required licences in place to deliver their services, proactively identifying and resolving any gaps in their licensing requirements
  • Proactive daily use of CRM to both manage customer relationships, as well as tracking leads & opportunities in order to hit sales targets
  • Undertake proactive market analysis and research to identify opportunities for increased licence penetration and revenue growth, proactively following up on resulting leads, and meeting with prospective customers to sell the benefits of using our member’s music
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders & colleagues (e.g., PRS distribution and operations teams) to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate flow-through of royalties and resolve internal queries (including member-initiated queries) in relation to own accounts
  • Meet with key customers & stakeholders in person a minimum of twice a month

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
