Dalzell's of Markethill is Northern Ireland’s largest independent electrical retailer, established in 1956 as a family business with a strong focus on customer care and value. The company holds more than 10,000 kitchen appliances, stoves, fires, and TVs in stock, and showcases over 700 domestic appliances and home entertainment products in its showroom. Dalzell’s offers a wide range of leading and niche brands, enabling customers to make direct comparisons when choosing home appliances. Located on Main Street in Markethill, between Newry and Armagh, the store is easily accessible and provides free delivery across Northern Ireland and several counties in the Republic of Ireland. Trade customers are welcome, and the business operates with competitive rates across the rest of Ireland and the UK.
Role Description
The Sales Consultant – Home Appliances & Stoves (Full Time) role is an on-site position based in Armagh, focused on guiding customers through the selection and purchase of kitchen appliances, stoves, fires, and home entertainment products. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The role involves:
- Preparing quotations
- Processing sales
- Coordinating delivery details
- Ensuring a smooth end-to-end customer experience
The Sales Consultant will maintain up-to-date product knowledge, assist with merchandising and stock displays, and collaborate with colleagues to meet sales targets while upholding high standards of customer satisfaction. This full-time role requires flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends and peak trading periods.
Qualifications
- Strong sales-focused skills, including Sales Consulting and Consulting, with the ability to recommend suitable products and close sales responsibly.
- Commitment to Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, ensuring a positive showroom experience and repeat business.
- Excellent Communication skills, including clear verbal communication, active listening, and the ability to explain technical product features in accessible terms.
- Basic IT proficiency for using point-of-sale systems, email, and inventory tools, along with accurate numeracy for pricing and quotations.
- Previous experience in retail, electrical goods, or home appliances sales is highly beneficial; product knowledge of stoves, cookers, and domestic appliances is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Armagh, stand for extended periods, and occasionally assist with light stock handling in the showroom.
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented work style, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
