Abbeygate Lighting is a specialist decorative lighting retailer with over 40 years of experience and three established showrooms. The company offers a wide range of contemporary and traditional lighting, regularly updating collections to reflect evolving home interior trends. With showrooms in Norwich, Bury St Edmunds, and Felixstowe, Abbeygate Lighting provides customers with extensive product choice, inspiration, and in-store expertise. In addition to lighting fixtures, the showrooms feature homeware, gifts, pictures, and repair workshops to support customers with broken lighting. Team members work in a customer-focused environment where quality products and service are central to the business.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Sales Consultant role based at the Norwich showroom. The Sales Consultant will welcome customers, discuss their lighting and home interior needs, and provide knowledgeable product guidance across a wide range of contemporary and traditional fixtures.

Responsibilities:


Get help with your application

- Demonstrating products
- Preparing quotations
- Processing sales
- Supporting customers with special orders and repair workshop enquiries
- Maintaining an attractive showroom display
- Keeping product information up to date
- Ensuring stock is presented clearly and safely
The Sales Consultant will collaborate with colleagues to achieve sales expectations, uphold high standards of customer service, and contribute to a positive, professional showroom atmosphere.
Qualifications
- Strong Sales Consulting and Consulting skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and recommend suitable products.
- Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills, focused on building trust, providing support, and encouraging repeat business.
- Effective Communication skills, including clear verbal communication, active listening, and confident interaction in a showroom environment.
- Interest in home interiors, decorative lighting, and design, with a willingness to learn detailed product features and technical information.
- Experience in retail, showroom, or customer-facing roles is beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Norwich, including weekend or flexible hours as required.
- Basic IT skills for using point-of-sale systems and handling customer records.
- Reliable, organized, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
