Sales Controller – Oxford

We are seeking an experienced and driven Sales Controller to join a high-performing automotive sales team in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated automotive professional looking to take the next step in their leadership career while remaining actively involved in vehicle sales and customer engagement.

The successful candidate will support the Sales Manager in driving departmental performance, maximising profitability, coaching the sales team, and ensuring an outstanding customer experience throughout the sales journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Sales Manager in the day-to-day running of the sales department.
  • Lead, motivate, and coach Sales Executives to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Assist in managing vehicle stock, pricing, and stock turn.
  • Drive finance, insurance, and add-on product penetration.
  • Ensure all customer enquiries are handled professionally and efficiently.
  • Monitor sales performance and implement action plans where required.
  • Conduct deal reviews and assist with structuring profitable vehicle sales.
  • Maintain compliance with FCA regulations and company processes.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and promote high customer satisfaction scores.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of sales team members.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Sales Controller, Senior Sales Executive, Business Manager, or similar automotive retail role.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and profitability targets.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and closing abilities.
  • Strong understanding of finance and insurance products.
  • Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
