Business Area: Finance
Location: York or Gatwick

Salary: £65,000 – £70,000 (depending on location & experience)

At Nestlé, we believe food has the power to enhance lives. We're looking for a talented and people-focused Sales Controlling Excellence Manager to join our UK & Ireland Finance team.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced finance professional to lead our Sales Controlling team, driving excellence in trade spend governance, commercial insight, continuous improvement, and stakeholder partnership across Sales, Finance and Category teams. Reporting to the Head of Sales Finance, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of trade spend reporting, developing team capability, and driving process optimisation across the business.

Your Impact

As Sales Controlling Excellence Manager, you'll lead and develop a team of 10, helping them build capability, deliver against KPIs and achieve their development aspirations.

You'll also:

  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team, ensuring robust development and succession plans are in place.
  • Partner with Category Controllers, Sales Co-Pilots and commercial teams to provide valuable trade spend and promotional insights.
  • Oversee key Sales Controlling processes, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant outputs.
  • Lead the annual EY audit process, ensuring smooth delivery and strong controls around trade spend accounting.
  • Drive governance and compliance with Nestlé Accounting Standards and trade spend policies.
  • Support strategic projects and optimisation programmes that improve business performance and efficiency.

Your Ingredients to Success

We're looking for a collaborative leader who combines financial expertise with excellent stakeholder management and coaching skills.

Essential Skills:

  • Significant experience within Finance, Accounting or Commercial Finance.
  • Previous people leadership and team development experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls and governance.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across functions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build credibility across all levels of the organisation.

Desirable Skills:

  • Demonstrated success in solving business issues and leading change initiatives.
  • FMCG experience, ideally within a complex matrix organisation.
  • Experience working within Sales Finance, Order-to-Cash, Accounts Receivable or related commercial finance environments.
  • Degree-level education in Business, Finance or Accounting and/or a professional accountancy qualification.
  • Strong SAP and Excel skills.
