About Us
Khan Marketing Group is a growing B2B FMCG wholesale distributor supplying independent retailers across the UK. We are expanding our office team and are looking for an experienced, confident and organised individual to take responsibility for a mixture of sales appointment setting, credit control and customer account administration. This is a hands-on role within a busy wholesale business. It would suit someone who is comfortable speaking to customers throughout the day, following up persistently when required and keeping accurate records. This is not an entry-level position. Previous relevant experience is required.
The Role
The position has three main areas of responsibility:
Sales & Appointment Setting
- Make outbound B2B calls to prospective, existing and dormant customers.
- Speak confidently with business owners, buyers and decision-makers.
- Identify genuine sales opportunities and book qualified appointments for the sales team.
- Follow up leads, quotations and previous customer enquiries.
- Re-engage customers who have stopped ordering.
- Record every meaningful customer conversation, outcome and next action accurately within our CRM/ERP system.
- Maintain a structured follow-up list so opportunities are not forgotten.
- Work closely with the sales team to ensure booked appointments are relevant and properly qualified.
Credit Control
- Take responsibility for following up customer accounts approaching or exceeding their agreed payment terms.
- Contact customers by telephone, email and other agreed channels to obtain payment.
- Obtain clear payment commitments rather than accepting vague responses.
- Record promised payment dates accurately against customer accounts.
- Follow up immediately where a promised payment date has been missed.
- Maintain clear notes showing who was contacted, what was agreed and what action is required next.
- Monitor overdue accounts and prioritise higher-risk or higher-value balances.
- Identify invoice disputes or account queries that are delaying payment and ensure they are resolved or escalated quickly.
- Liaise with sales and management regarding overdue customers where further orders or credit may need to be reviewed.
- Help maintain accurate debtor information and support management with aged debt reporting.
- Maintain professional customer relationships while remaining firm regarding agreed payment terms.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What Good Performance Looks Like
You will be successful in this role when:
- Customer payment commitments are properly recorded and followed up.
- Overdue accounts are actively managed rather than left sitting on the ledger.
- Missed payment promises are identified quickly.
- Customer account notes are clear and accurate.
- Sales leads are followed up consistently.

You will need to be persistent without being rude, organised without being slow, and confident dealing with both sales opportunities and customers who owe money.
If you prefer avoiding difficult telephone conversations or need to be repeatedly reminded to follow things up, this position is unlikely to be suitable.

Please apply with an up-to-date CV detailing your experience in:
- Credit control or customer payment collection.
- B2B outbound calling, telesales or appointment setting.
- Managing customer accounts.
- CRM, ERP or accounting systems.
Shortlisted applicants will complete a short telephone interview followed by a practical assessment covering both credit control and customer calling.
