About Engineer M8
Engineer M8 builds software for the fire, security, and facilities industries. Our platform gives installers, engineers, and site owners a single place to manage CCTV and video monitoring, vehicle tracking, business phone systems, fire safety records, parking, and ANPR, and day-to-day field service work.
We are a small, fast-moving business. The person who joins us will see the whole company, work directly with the founder, and have a genuine say in how things are done.
The Opportunity
This is a training role. We are not looking for someone who already knows our industry or our software. We will teach you both. We are looking for someone bright, well-organized, and good with people, who wants to build a career in technology sales and customer success and would rather learn it properly from the ground up.
You will start by supporting our existing customers and learning the platform inside out. As your knowledge grows, you will take on more: producing quotes, running product demonstrations, and onboarding new customers yourself. Structured training and a clear progression path are built into the role from day one.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
