We are looking for an enthusiastic and commercially focused Sales & Design Consultant to join our showroom in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey. The successful candidate will have a passion for interiors, a strong commitment to client service and the ability to develop long-lasting relationships with both private and professional clients.
The Role
You will support clients throughout the complete furniture and interior design journey, helping them to create spaces that reflect their lifestyle, taste and practical requirements.
The role combines consultative selling, space planning, project co-ordination, client development and after-sales follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome clients to the showroom and provide a knowledgeable, friendly and personalised service.
- Understand each client’s needs, style, space, timescale and budget.
- Present Roche Bobois furniture, accessories, materials, finishes and made-to-order options.
- Prepare tailored furniture layouts, design proposals and product selections.
- Conduct home visits, site assessments and measurements where required.
- Produce quotations and manage the sales process from initial enquiry through to order confirmation.
- Follow up leads, showroom visits, appointments and outstanding quotations in a timely and proactive manner.
- Work towards individual monthly and annual sales targets.
- Develop long-term relationships with private clients and encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Build relationships with local interior designers, architects, property developers and other professional specifiers.
- Maintain accurate client, project and sales information within the CRM system.
- Monitor orders and keep clients informed regarding production, delivery and installation.
- Co-ordinate closely with the showroom, administration, logistics and after-sales teams.
- Support the professional and efficient resolution of delivery, installation or product-related queries.
- Assist with the presentation and merchandising of the showroom.
- Participate in local events, showroom activities, client evenings and collection launches.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of Roche Bobois collections, materials and design trends.

About You
- Previous experience in furniture, interiors, design-led retail, kitchens, property or consultative sales.
- A proven ability to build client relationships and convert enquiries into sales.
- Commercially ambitious and comfortable working towards individual targets.
- A genuine interest in interior design, furniture, architecture and contemporary living.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proactive, reliable and committed to delivering a high standard of client service.
- Confident working independently as well as part of a showroom team.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly when preparing quotations and managing orders.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Comfortable using digital sales tools and CRM systems.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Photoshop, floor-planning or 3D design software would be advantageous.
- A full UK driving licence would be beneficial due to potential client and site visits.
- Availability to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
- Full and permanent eligibility to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship.
