Sales Development Executive

We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded Sales Development Executive to become the first point of contact for prospective customers and play a key role in turning initial interest into genuine sales opportunities. Working alongside a strong Marketing function, you will engage with a consistent flow of inbound leads, build relationships with prospective customers, understand their business needs and challenges, ask insightful questions and identify opportunities.

Salary: up to £30,000 basic + annual bonus + benefits
Location: near Fleet, office based

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys speaking with people, uncovering business needs and working in a target-driven environment, with the ambition to build a successful career in B2B tech sales. You will be responsible for qualifying inbound leads, developing new opportunities and supporting the wider Sales Team in building a healthy and high-quality pipeline.

You will:

  • Promptly contact and engage with marketing-generated leads.
  • Build rapport and establish strong relationships with prospective customers.
  • Ask effective questions to understand business challenges, requirements and buying needs.
  • Qualify opportunities against agreed criteria and identify genuine sales potential.
  • Understand customers’ requirements and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Create high-quality sales opportunities for the wider Sales Team.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the CRM.
  • Record customer interactions, requirements, next steps and opportunity information accurately.
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing to ensure high-quality opportunities are effectively handed over.
  • Provide feedback to Marketing on lead quality and customer requirements.
  • Proactively identify and engage new prospects within target sectors.
  • Develop your knowledge and the challenges faced by businesses within the industry.
  • Consistently work towards agreed activity, pipeline and opportunity targets.

About you:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in sales, business development, customer service or another client-facing role
  • The ability to build rapport quickly and communicate confidently with prospects.
  • Strong listening and questioning skills.
  • A genuine interest in understanding customer needs and solving problems.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
  • A disciplined approach to CRM and pipeline management.
  • Motivation to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Resilience and persistence when engaging with prospects.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider sales team.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ambition to develop a long-term career within B2B sales.
