About CSL

CSL (Copier Systems Limited) is an established managed print and office technology company based in Barnsley and part of The HBP Group, a wider technology group providing IT, cyber security and business technology solutions.

We work with businesses across the UK, helping them reduce costs, strengthen security and make better use of technology.

We work with leading manufacturers including Canon, Epson and Develop, providing solutions ranging from photocopiers and printers through to print management, document solutions and security.

CSL has also invested in Optimise Cyber Solutions, a cyber security awareness and training company, giving us the ability to offer customers solutions that go beyond traditional print and office technology.

Being part of a wider technology group also means there are opportunities to identify wider requirements and introduce solutions beyond print, creating additional sales opportunities across areas such as IT, cyber security and business technology.

The Role

As Sales Development Executive, you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Making outbound calls and speaking with prospective customers
  • Generating your own leads through cold calling, LinkedIn, networking and personal contacts
  • Building relationships with business owners and key decision-makers
  • Understanding customer requirements and identifying opportunities
  • Booking and attending appointments
  • Managing leads and opportunities through the sales process
  • Following up quotations and opportunities
  • Developing your own sales pipeline
  • Managing your own customer accounts once business is won
  • Identifying upselling and additional opportunities within existing accounts
  • Maintaining accurate records of calls, activity and opportunities
  • Working towards agreed sales targets and KPIs
  • Keeping up to date with our products, services and the wider technology market

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Confident and comfortable making outbound calls
  • Able to build rapport with businesses and decision-makers
  • Commercially minded and motivated by achieving results
  • Confident handling objections
  • Able to identify genuine sales opportunities
  • Organised and able to manage multiple opportunities
  • Punctual, reliable and good at managing their time
  • Able to work smart and manage their own workload
  • Resilient and persistent
  • IT literate
  • Comfortable using LinkedIn and other digital platforms
  • Target driven and motivated by earning commission
  • Looking to develop a long-term career in B2B sales

Previous telesales, lead generation in IT, Tech or managed print sales is an advantage but isn't essential as full training will be provided.

Progression

The aim is for the successful candidate to progress into a Business Development Manager role within around 6 months, subject to performance and the development of their own pipeline.

As a BDM, you'll be responsible for generating your own opportunities, attending your own appointments, winning new business, managing your customer accounts and identifying further opportunities within those accounts.
