Job Title

Our client is an AI transformation company focused on helping organisations industrialise innovation and unlock competitive advantage through agentic technology. With over 20 years’ experience, they partner with some of the UK’s most ambitious organisations, helping them harness technology to compete, differentiate and grow in rapidly evolving markets.

After significant growth, they are looking for an experienced Sales Development Manager to lead the Manchester-based BDR team. This is a pure people leadership role. You will inherit an established team of 6 to 8 BDRs, with headcount already approved and recruitment underway. Your focus will be on leading, coaching and developing the team to deliver meetings, qualified opportunities and pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of 6 to 8 Business Development Representatives
  • Own team performance across activity levels, meetings booked, qualified opportunities and pipeline contribution
  • Deliver structured coaching through call reviews, message reviews, objection handling and regular 1:1s
  • Onboard new team members and reduce time to ramp
  • Set and maintain standards for outbound activity, pipeline quality and CRM discipline
  • Build the team's operating rhythm, including cadences, sequences, reporting and top-of-funnel forecasting
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to align on target accounts, messaging and campaigns
  • Use performance data to identify coaching opportunities and improve results

About You

  • Experience managing an outbound SDR or BDR team of five or more in a B2B environment
  • A strong personal background in outbound sales and business development
  • Experience in B2B technology, professional services or a similar consultative environment
  • A track record of developing people, improving performance and supporting promotions
  • Experience onboarding new salespeople and reducing ramp time
  • Strong working knowledge of CRM systems, sales engagement platforms and performance reporting
  • The ability to manage by both data and behaviour
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Experience of multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles is an advantage
