Sales Development Representative, Microsoft Azure

£40k base · £60k OTE · Glasgow, hybrid · New role

This is a new job. Nobody at Servent has done it before. You'll build how outbound works here, and what you hear on calls will shape how we sell.

It's also a split role. We'd rather you knew that before you applied than found out in month two.

Why Servent

We're a premium Microsoft Azure partner based in Glasgow. We modernise, migrate and run our clients' estates on Azure across infrastructure, data and AI, security and app innovation. We deliver projects and managed services, and we're growing the long-term side of the business. This role is a big part of how we do that.

The work

Around 60% is outbound. You'll call back into clients we've already delivered for, and prospect new accounts that fit our profile. You'll engage clients and prospects across Phone, email and LinkedIn. You'll qualify properly, then hand the meeting to one of our Solution Directors. Qualifying properly includes saying no.

Around 40% is Microsoft leads. Microsoft passes us leads from smaller and mid-sized organisations. They're won on speed and lost on sloppy admin. You'll work with a Solution Director on scheduling, routing and follow-up, and keep Dynamics 365 honest.

We check the split every week. If Microsoft work starts eating your outbound time, that's a workload problem and we fix it together. It's not a performance problem.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

How you'll be measured

Outbound: qualified pipeline in pounds, meetings with the right people, and how many first meetings turn into real opportunities with a next phase beyond the first project.

Microsoft leads: time to first contact, a clear next step on every opportunity in D365, and no lead going quiet.

We'll set the numbers with you in your first few weeks. We won't just hand them to you.

You'll fit if

You've done two years or so in an SDR or BDR seat with a prospecting target. Microsoft, cloud, IT services or MSP experience puts you near the top of the pile.

You can hold a credible first conversation about Azure. We'll teach you our services. We won't teach you what cloud is.

You keep a CRM clean because you know what a messy one costs. Dynamics 365 helps but isn't required.

You'd rather have a short, honest pipeline than a long, hopeful one.

You hear "no" a lot and still hit your number.

You run your own week across two priorities without a morning check-in.

You'd rather fix a process than moan about one.

If you want a fixed playbook, a script, or a big sales floor with a leaderboard, this will frustrate you. Better to know now.

£40,000 base, £60,000 OTE. Commission pays on meetings, qualified pipeline and closed revenue, weighted towards opportunities that lead to further work. You get the plan in writing when you join.

Named clients behind every call, so you're never starting cold. Weekly coaching from a manager who's sold and delivered Azure for over a decade, plus direct access to our Solution Directors. A route to Senior SDR or Account Executive as the team grows.

You'll report to Chris Dean, Head of Client Engagement. Chris started out as a solutions architect on programmes for the NHS, Lloyd's of London and Zurich. He ran an Azure practice from 2014, then led client teams at New Signature, Cognizant's Microsoft Business Group, Ekco and Cloud Direct, where he was COO. He's also a business coach. For you, that means a manager who can teach you the technical side and will put real time into how you develop.

How to apply

Send Chris your CV at Chris.Dean@servent.co.uk with a short note covering two things: one meeting you booked that you're proud of, and one deal you disqualified and why. Chris reads every application. We'll reply to everyone within 5 working days. The process is two conversations, one with Chris and a Solution Director, then one with our Founder and CEO, Des McGuire.
