The role

Synapto helps businesses control how money moves through them: what it costs, how fast it arrives, and how much margin survives the journey. The market is large and underserved, and most of the businesses we can help have never been shown a better option.

As our Sales Development Representative, you'll be the first conversation those businesses have with us. You'll run outbound across LinkedIn and email, open conversations with the people we most want to talk to, and get underneath what is actually costing them money. The meetings you book go to our complex sales team and, where the fit is right, you'll take them further yourself.

You won't be handed a list and left to it. The targeting, segmentation, and ideal customer profiles are set by the Chief Growth Officer, and we'll go through them with you properly, including the reasoning behind each one, so you understand who you're speaking to and why what we do matters to them. Good outbound depends on that context, and you'll get it.

You'll work alongside our Growth Marketing Manager, who runs the campaigns and audience work. The division is simple: marketing handles the one-to-many campaigns and nurture, you handle the researched, one-to-one conversations that no campaign can replicate. Between you, you cover the whole front of the funnel.

There is also a wider point to this role. You'll be in more first conversations than anyone else in the business, which makes you the fastest way for us to learn whether a market, a message, or a hypothesis actually holds up. What you hear goes straight back to the CGO and shapes what we do next. The early wins and proof points you help create are what the rest of our go-to-market is built on.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll run consistent, well-researched outbound across LinkedIn and email to the audiences we define together. This is quality-led prospecting, not volume for its own sake: every approach should show you understand the business you're contacting.

LinkedIn as a channel

LinkedIn is central to how we reach our market, and you'll work it properly: building a credible professional presence, engaging in the places our buyers already are, and using social selling to warm conversations before you ever ask for a meeting. You'll be supported with positioning and content guidance so you're not starting from a blank profile.

Discovery and qualification

You'll hold the early conversations and get to the real commercial pain: what their payments set-up is costing them, where it slows them down, and what would have to be true for them to change. You'll qualify honestly, so the team's time goes where it counts.

Booking and briefing meetings

You'll book qualified meetings for our complex sales team and platform specialists, and brief them properly. A good handover means context, pain, and stakeholders, not just a calendar invite.

Closing, as you grow into it

Where a conversation sits within your range, you'll run it through to close yourself. If you arrive with payments experience, that starts early. If you don't, we'll build it with you, and this role has a clear path into a full closing remit.

Market feedback

You'll feed back what you're hearing: which segments respond, which messages land, which pains come up again and again. This directly shapes our targeting and campaigns, and it is one of the most valuable things you'll do here.

Pipeline hygiene

You'll keep the CRM accurate and current, so that pipeline reporting reflects reality and nothing worth following up gets lost.

What we're looking for

  • Experience in an outbound sales or business development role, comfortable starting conversations with people who weren't expecting to hear from you.
  • Genuine curiosity about how businesses work, and the confidence to ask commercial questions rather than run through a script.
  • A strong written approach: your LinkedIn messages and emails should read as though a person wrote them for that specific business.
  • Comfortable using LinkedIn as a working channel, not just a profile: posting, commenting, and building relationships in public as well as in the inbox.
  • Resilience and consistency. Outbound rewards people who keep going and keep refining.
  • Organised and reliable in a CRM, with clean notes and honest reporting.
  • Ambition to grow into closing, and the willingness to learn a technical product properly to get there.

Nice to have

  • Experience in payments, fintech, or SaaS.
  • Exposure to selling to software platforms and vendors as well as to end businesses.
  • A track record of building pipeline from scratch in a new or unproven market.

Your first 90 days

  • By day 30: fully briefed on our proposition and ICPs and the thinking behind them; outbound live across LinkedIn and email; first qualified meetings booked.
  • By day 60: a consistent rhythm of qualified meetings into the sales team, with clean handovers, and early feedback to the CGO on which segments and messages are landing.
  • By day 90: a predictable contribution of meetings and pipeline value, a clear point of view on where the best conversations are coming from, and, depending on your background, the first deals you're running yourself.
