Sales Development Representative

Company: RiskSmart
Location: Manchester (City Centre) | Hybrid
Job type: Full-time | Permanent
Department: Sales

About RiskSmart

RiskSmart is one of the fastest-growing tech scale-ups in Manchester, helping businesses simplify governance, risk and compliance. Our platform helps risk teams move away from spreadsheets, manual processes and clunky legacy systems by giving them clearer visibility, better reporting and more control over risk management. We work with well-known brands across financial services, retail, technology, energy and professional services, and our growth has been recognised across multiple industry awards.

The Role

You'll sit at the start of our sales process, starting conversations with senior risk, compliance and governance professionals such as Heads of Risk, Chief Risk Officers and Compliance Officers in regulated industries. Through cold calling, email, LinkedIn and events, you'll create interest in RiskSmart, uncover pain points, qualify opportunities and book high-quality demos for your Account Executive. You'll join a team of SDRs organised into vertical pods, each focused on specific industries and partnered with a dedicated Account Executive. That means you'll build real expertise in your market rather than calling everyone and anyone. This role is built for someone who has spent a year or more in business development, recruitment or another outbound sales role and is ready to take those skills into software sales. Our SDR team joined us from a wide range of backgrounds, so we know how well that experience translates.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
