The Role
We're looking for a Sales Development Representative to turn conversations with independent estate agents into new revenue across the Houseful portfolio. You'll split your time between two jobs. One is converting the inbound enquiries that come to us. The other is finding new opportunities through outbound calls, with both new and existing clients. You'll become the go-to voice for independent agency owners. You'll understand their business well enough to know which of our property marketing, CRM, website and reach products will make a real difference to them.
What You'll Do
- Qualify and close inbound enquiries quickly, and convert as many of them as possible
- Prospect by phone to open up new business and sell additional products to existing clients
- Grow revenue across the Houseful range: property marketing, CRM software, website products and marketing reach products
- Run a structured contact plan across your allocated accounts, so no customer or prospect goes too long without hearing from us
- Work closely with the territory account managers and the specialist product team, so clients get joined-up advice and access to the right products and partnerships
- Own customer queries and complaints until they're resolved. That includes keeping cancellations down and recovering outstanding payments
- Keep Salesforce accurate and up to date, so the wider team can trust what's in it
- Keep building your knowledge of our products, the market and our competitors, and share useful insight with clients and colleagues. That includes representing Alto at events and conferences when needed

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You Need to Be Successful
- Experience in B2B sales, ideally in a consultative role where you've sold on value rather than price
- Strong organisation and time management. You can run an inbound queue and an outbound pipeline side by side without either slipping
- You're comfortable in a fast-moving, target-driven environment and adapt quickly when priorities change
- You're self-motivated, show good judgement and take the initiative. You don't wait to be told what to do next
- Experience helping customers see the value of digital tools and adopt new ways of working
- You're a confident communicator on the phone and in person, with clients and colleagues alike
- Solid working knowledge of Google Sheets/Slides or Excel/PowerPoint. Salesforce experience is a plus
- Strong to have: a background in property, software or digital media, and a track record of selling a varied product portfolio across several channels
There's always room to grow and learn with our roles — please don't be put off if you don't have all of these. It's more important that you're passionate about improving the home moving and owning experience for everyone.
