Business Development Representative
Remote (The Netherlands)
About the Role
We are looking for exceptional sales professionals who are passionate, ambitious, and driven to excel within our elite sales organisation. Our Business Development Representatives (BDRs) will serve as the tip of the spear in the sales process, engaging with prospective business accounts within an assigned territory.
We’re seeking a candidate who combines:
- Relevant experience in sales, strong sales intuition, and a passionate mindset
- A team-oriented and quota-driven mentality
- Empathy, confidence, resilience, and the ability to handle rejection professionally
- Strong written & verbal communication skills, with the ability to conduct high-level discussions with C-level executives at medium to large organisations
Key Traits Needed:
- Comfortable initiating outbound cold calls, emails, and professional consultations
- Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment and align with existing sales processes & tools
- Organised, self-motivated, and growth-minded – ready to ramp up rapidly
Your Responsibilities
- Outbound Prospection: Conduct cold calls, emails, and research to engage potential clients in targeted accounts
- Business Development: Proactively identify new business opportunities and connect client needs to our Abnormal Security product suite
- Lead Qualification: Turn marketing-generated leads into high-value sales opportunities through candid conversations with stakeholders
- Collaboration & Sales Support:
- Partner seamlessly with internal teams and external accounts
- Demonstrate leadership in sales planning and positive coaching for team members
- Target Metrics: Consistently exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets
- Technical Expertise: Develop deep product knowledge to collaborate effectively with sales teams and position Abnormal Security as a trusted partner

Requirements
Must Haves
✅ Work Experience: 6 months to 1+ years as a Business Development Representative (BDR), Sales Account Executive, or related commercial role (fresh talents expected but must demonstrate problem-solving & results) ✅ Dutch Fluency: Mandatory for handling B2B conversations in medium-to-large organisations ✅ Sales Leadership & Collaboration:
- Experience working in distributed sales teams
- Ability to identify customer pain points, link them to value propositions, and convert opportunities ✅ Commercial & Soft Skills:
- Expertise in multiple sales techniques (cold calling included)
- Clear, persuasive written & verbal communication with attention to presentation
- Role & time management: Juggling multiple accounts while hitting account-specific targets ✅ Competitive Mindset:
- Driven to win, team-focused, and comfortable with high-pressure sales goals ✅ Education/Guidance: Bachelor’s or equivalent degree OR commercial experience with proven results
