Sales Development Representative
Location: London
Working pattern: Hybrid
Salary: £40,000–£50,000 + commission
Contract: Permanent

We’re working with a growing business that is expanding its commercial team and looking to appoint an ambitious Sales Development Representative.
This is a newly created position and represents an excellent opportunity for an experienced SDR/BDR to join a growing organisation and play a key role in developing its new business pipeline.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, engaging and qualifying prospective customers across targeted industries, creating high-quality opportunities for the senior sales team. This is a hands-on outbound role suited to someone who enjoys prospecting, is comfortable working to targets and takes a structured, data-led approach to generating pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute targeted outbound activity across telephone, email and LinkedIn.
- Research target accounts and identify relevant decision-makers and influencers.
- Build and manage a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects.
- Conduct initial discovery conversations and assess prospects against the ideal customer profile.
- Create, test and optimise outbound sequences to improve engagement and conversion.
- Work closely with the wider sales team to ensure qualified opportunities are effectively handed over.
- Develop a strong understanding of target sectors, businesses and their specific commercial challenges.
- Build accurate prospect lists using tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other business development platforms.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within the CRM.
- Track activity and conversion metrics, using data to continually improve prospecting performance.
- Make effective use of AI and sales automation tools to improve research, personalisation and outbound efficiency.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have at least one year's experience in a similar sales environment, ideally within payments, fintech, SaaS or another complex B2B sales environment.
You’ll be:
- Commercially driven and motivated by achieving measurable results.
- Resilient and comfortable with the challenges of outbound sales.
- Naturally proactive, with a genuine desire to create new opportunities.
- Data-driven and comfortable using metrics to measure and improve performance.
- Highly organised and process-oriented.
- A confident communicator, comfortable speaking with senior decision-makers.
- Able to understand complex technology or financial concepts and communicate their value clearly.
- Experienced with CRM and prospecting tools such as HubSpot and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
- Interested in using AI and automation to improve the sales process.
