About the Role
We are looking for a driven, commercially focused and results-oriented Sales Development Representative (SDR) Team Lead to lead and support our London-based SDR team while remaining actively involved in generating and qualifying new business opportunities. This is a hands-on player-coach role, combining individual lead-generation responsibilities with the day-to-day leadership, coaching and performance management of the SDR team.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record within B2B sales development, lead generation or outbound sales and will be confident leading a target-driven team within a fast-paced and growing organisation. You will be responsible for driving outbound activity, improving lead quality, supporting pipeline growth and ensuring the SDR team consistently works towards agreed individual and team targets.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
SDR Team Leadership
- Lead and support the day-to-day activities of the SDR team.
- Set clear daily, weekly and monthly expectations in line with agreed sales development targets.
- Monitor individual and team performance against agreed KPIs.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, coaching sessions and performance check-ins.
- Coach SDRs on prospecting, cold calling, objection handling, communication and lead qualification.
- Identify performance gaps and provide appropriate coaching and support.
- Support the onboarding, training and development of new SDRs.
- Motivate the team and create a positive, accountable and high-performance sales environment.
- Share successful prospecting techniques and promote best practice across the team.
- Lead by example by maintaining personal prospecting and lead-generation activity.

Lead Generation & Prospecting
- Conduct market research to identify prospective B2B clients using online tools, databases, CRM systems and social platforms.
- Research ongoing and upcoming projects aligned with ZenaTech’s capabilities and target markets.
- Generate new business leads through outbound strategies including cold calling, email outreach, social selling and networking.
- Identify and engage relevant decision-makers within prospective organisations.
- Develop and maintain effective prospecting approaches to increase the quality and volume of opportunities generated.
- Build and nurture relationships with prospects through structured and consistent follow-up.
- Manage and respond to relevant inbound enquiries and marketing-generated leads.
- Maintain personal responsibility for generating and qualifying new business opportunities alongside the wider SDR team.
Lead Qualification & Pipeline Development
- Qualify prospects by understanding their business needs, technical requirements, project requirements and commercial suitability.
- Ensure SDRs consistently follow agreed lead-qualification standards.
- Review the quality of opportunities generated by the team.
- Support SDRs with complex prospect conversations, objections and qualification requirements.
- Ensure qualified opportunities are appropriately progressed or handed over to the relevant sales or business development contact.
- Work with the team to continuously improve lead-to-opportunity conversion.
- Maintain oversight of the SDR pipeline and ensure prospects receive timely and appropriate follow-up.
CRM & Reporting
- Ensure all prospecting activity, communications and lead information are accurately recorded within the CRM.
- Maintain high standards of CRM usage and data accuracy across the SDR team.
- Track individual and team activity against agreed weekly and monthly targets.
- Monitor lead-generation activity, qualification rates, conversion and pipeline development.
- Analyse performance data to identify trends, challenges and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide regular performance and pipeline updates to management.
- Work collaboratively with management to improve prospecting strategies, processes and overall SDR performance.

Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience within an SDR, Lead Generation, Sales Development or outbound B2B sales position.
- Previous experience as a Senior SDR, SDR Team Lead or in a position involving coaching or mentoring sales professionals.
- Proven track record of generating and qualifying new business opportunities.
- Demonstrable history of achieving or exceeding individual sales development targets.
- Experience supporting or driving team performance against measurable KPIs.
- Strong cold-calling and outbound prospecting capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Confident objection-handling, influencing and persuasion skills.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Good research and data-analysis capabilities.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Experience using CRM systems, prospecting tools and sales platforms.
- Ability to interpret performance data and use it to drive improvements.
- Confident coaching, motivating and developing SDR team members.
- Self-motivated, resilient and target-driven.

What Success Looks Like
Success in this position will be demonstrated through consistent achievement of individual and team SDR targets, strong pipeline generation, improved lead quality and conversion, effective CRM management and measurable development of the SDR team. The SDR Team Lead will be expected to create a high-performance environment while remaining commercially active and demonstrating the prospecting, communication and performance standards expected from the wider team.
