Solab IT Services are a local Aberdeen, fast-growing company within the Information Technology industry, looking for a Sales Development Representative who is confident, motivated and keen to develop a career in a customer facing sales role.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys speaking to people, building relationships and identifying new business opportunities. The role would suit someone who is organised, proactive and comfortable working in a busy sales environment, with the support of an experienced team around them.

The Role

This position plays a key role within the Sales team, supporting business growth through outbound prospecting, lead qualification, customer engagement and sales administration.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Outbound Prospecting & Lead Generation: Research potential customers and identify new business opportunities through networking, telephone, email and LinkedIn.
  • Inbound Sales Enquiries: Manage and respond to inbound commercial enquiries and calls, ensuring they are qualified and progressed appropriately.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with potential and existing customers to build relationships, generate leads and support a positive customer experience.
  • Sales Pipeline Administration: Maintain accurate customer and opportunity records within Halo CRM and support the progression of opportunities through the sales process.
  • Sales Processing: Process sales orders, manage renewals and recurring revenue tracking and coordinate invoicing queries between clients and Finance to ensure timely resolution.
  • Quotations & Sales Documentation: Create and issue quotations and internal sales order forms using approved pricing. Prepare standard sales contracts and associated sales documentation.
  • Procurement Support: Purchase Order Processing for Solab and client projects in line with company approval processes. Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Renewals: Support customer renewals by tracking upcoming renewal opportunities, contacting customers where required and working with Finance to ensure renewals are processed efficiently.
  • Sales Coordination: Coordinate sales meeting actions, follow up on agreed tasks and support general sales administration.
  • Sales Handover: Support the handover from sales to project delivery, including creating new projects in Halo and coordinating customer kick-off meetings where required.
  • Marketing & Event Coordination: Work with our external marketing agency to plan, develop, and coordinate marketing content and campaigns across digital, social media and email channels.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Review quarterly marketing performance reports, highlight key insights and recommendations to leadership.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, experience & skills:

  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, business development or a customer-facing role, ideally within an Information Technology environment.
  • Confident communicator with a professional and friendly approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable making outbound contact, prospecting new clients and building relationships.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and follow-ups.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy when updating Orders, CRM records and preparing sales documentation/quotes.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using a CRM system would be advantageous.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and keen to learn.

Work Location, Hours & Conditions

This is an office-based role in central Aberdeen, which is ideally full-time but part-time (min 4 days) may be considered for the right candidate.

You must have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
