About this opportunity

This role is being recruited by Calyptus on behalf of one of our clients.

Calyptus is a specialist recruitment partner helping startups and high-growth technology companies hire across engineering, product and design.

What to expect

  • We’ll review your application and, if your experience is a strong match, one of our team will be in touch
  • We’ll support you throughout the interview process and keep you updated at each stage
  • If this particular role isn’t the right fit, we may consider you for other relevant opportunities with our clients

We are looking for a Sales Development Team Leader

With 5+ years of outbound sales experience (including at least 2 years managing a BDR/SDR team) to own and elevate our outbound function. You'll be a player-coach who leads a team of four, sets the standard for cold calling excellence, and builds the playbook from the ground up at one of the most exciting AI-native HR platforms in the market.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4 SDRs through call reviews, 1:1s, and hands-on deal support — while personally contributing to outbound activity and opening target accounts yourself
  • Own the outbound strategy end-to-end: refine the playbook, sharpen ICP targeting, and drive cold calling as the primary channel
  • Build and optimise AI-assisted sequences and tooling (Clay, Lemlist, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc.) to keep the team ahead of the competition
  • Partner closely with AEs and RevOps to ensure tight pipeline handoffs and strong conversion rates
  • Use data and analytics to diagnose underperformance, track activity metrics, and continuously raise the bar on quality

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing or leading a BDR/SDR team — this is a hard requirement; the team needs a coach and mentor, not just an IC
  • 5+ years of total outbound sales experience, with no more than ~10 years total professional experience
  • Genuinely strong cold calling skills — you must be able to do it yourself and coach others to do it exceptionally well
  • Comfortable in a player-coach role: you're expected to carry a personal contribution (approx. 30% IC) alongside managing the team
  • Experience in a high-growth, VC-backed B2B SaaS environment; bonus if you've worked at a YC-backed company or scaled through a funding round
