The Opportunity
Osprey Engineering Solutions are working with a well-established production line technology business. They are looking for a hands-on Sales Director to lead and develop a team of Account Managers, ensuring they focus on the right opportunities and deliver consistent results. Youâll run the day-to-day sales function including coaching performance, improving sales execution, and maintaining a healthy, reliable pipeline and forecast.
This is a genuine leadership role for someone who wants to be close to the deals as well as the team â splitting time between customer sites and the office and stepping in on strategic or high-value opportunities where it counts.
âWhat You'll Be Doing
- Lead and develop a team of around five Account Managers, running regular 1:1s and dealing with underperformance early and properly
- Own the weekly pipeline review â every opportunity backed by real customer need, clear next steps and a realistic close date
- Keep forecasts accurate and honest
- Support the team on key opportunities, joining customer meetings where it adds value and helping unstick deals
- Take personal ownership of selected strategic or high-value opportunities
- Raise the standard of selling across the team â better discovery, and selling value rather than price
- Ensure the CRM is used properly and kept up to date, and that good sales habits stick
- Work closely with technical specialists to bring the right expertise in at the right time
- Feed back to marketing on lead quality and what's converting

Iâm in my final year doing Economics and I donât know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer â it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donât need a masters. Letâs look at the ones youâd be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet â that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
