About Holosphere
We build photoreal, physically accurate mixed-reality versions of real industrial sites, which people can walk into, work in and be assessed in without any of the risk of doing it for real. Our HoloCAVE and HoloSIM systems are deployed on live refinery sites with one of the world’s largest oil and gas operators.
It’s a great product in a market that’s barely been touched. Most of the industrial world still trains people for high-consequence work with a classroom and a slide deck, and we can demonstrate something considerably better. What we haven’t had until now is someone whose job it is to go and sell it.
The role
This is a Director-level appointment and a hands-on one. From day one you’ll be originating, building and closing deals yourself. As revenue grows, so will the sales and marketing team around you, and you’ll help build it. You’ll own revenue end to end: capital installations at the top, annual software licences underneath, and the expansion path between them.
Your primary market is high-hazard process industry, including oil and gas, large integrated petrochemical complexes, energy and utilities. Anywhere large numbers of workers and contractors have to be inducted, assessed and reassessed against site-specific hazards, repeatedly. Beyond that sit the adjacent operations that need people to spot something before it becomes an incident: airports, ports and terminals, transport, large-scale manufacturing. The buying trigger is usually HSE. Increasingly it’s also quality assurance and security, and we want someone commercially curious enough to open those doors.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Two things carry equal weight:
- New business. Serious industrial sales involve a full stakeholder chain: the HSE or training lead who becomes your champion, the operations director who owns the risk, and the budget holder who signs. You’ll work all of it, and build the internal case that gets a first-of-kind purchase through capex approval.
- Growing with our clients. Once a client has seen what the technology does in one part of their operation, there’s usually more we could be doing for them. Part of this role is understanding their operations well enough to see where that is, and making a strong case for it.
What you’ll walk into
- Mature technology with real deployments and a referenceable blue-chip industrial client
- A live pipeline, active tenders and existing client relationships with room to grow
- A Birmingham showroom of immersive installations that consistently wows senior decision-makers
- Ten years of refined IP and deep in-house expertise in spatial computing
- Direct access to the founders, and decisions made in days rather than quarters
What you’ll bring
Essential
- A demonstrable track record closing complex, high-value B2B sales on long cycles
- Experience selling technology or innovation-led products, whether capital systems, enterprise software or both
- Evidence of growing revenue within existing client relationships
- Credibility with industrial, engineering or regulated buyers, and comfort on an operational site
- A genuine originator: you build your own pipeline rather than working inbound leads
- Self-sufficient, able to run your own pipeline, proposals and forecasting without a sales support function behind you
- Willing to travel to client and prospect sites across the UK and internationally

Desirable
- Experience selling into HSE, training, compliance, quality or security functions
- Familiarity with vendor prequalification regimes (Achilles, FPAL, ISNetworld) and industrial procurement
- Exposure to both capital sales and recurring licence revenue
- An immersive, XR or simulation background is useful but not essential. We can teach the technology; we can’t teach commercial instinct.
How we work
We’re commercially ambitious and deliberately selective. We don’t take revenue from gambling, adult content, weapons development, or activities that cause social harm. Our technology exists to keep people safe and competent, and we intend to keep it that way.
The package
- Competitive salary
- Uncapped performance-based commission
- Birmingham-based, with flexibility where it makes sense. This is not a remote role
Why this one
Mature technology, a world-class showroom, and a market that’s only just waking up to what’s possible. This is a role for someone who has already made a significant commercial impact and is looking for somewhere to do it again, on a bigger stage.
A decade of innovation has brought us here. The next chapter is scale, and you’ll be at the front of it. If that excites you, we’d love to hear from you.
