Sales Director – Intralogistics / Automation Systems
Overview
A senior commercial leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth across intralogistics, automation, and large-scale systems projects. This position leads the sales organisation, shapes market strategy, and builds high-value customer partnerships across integrators, OEMs, 3PLs, and end-users. The ideal candidate is a proven systems seller with deep intralogistics knowledge and a track record of leading high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership
- Own the full commercial strategy for UK & European markets.
- Develop and execute growth plans across new business, key accounts, and strategic partnerships.
- Drive pipeline creation, forecasting accuracy, and long-term revenue planning.
- Represent the business at industry events, panels, and customer executive meetings.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing sales team.
- Build a culture of accountability, pace, and value-led selling.
- Recruit, onboard, and develop talent to support expansion goals.
- Implement structured sales processes, KPIs, and performance frameworks.

Systems Selling & Solution Design
- Lead complex automation sales cycles (AS/RS, conveyors, AMRs, robotics, WMS/WCS integrations).
- Work closely with engineering, project delivery, and product teams to shape integrated solutions.
- Guide customers through full-scale fulfilment transformation and automation strategy.
- Manage multi-stakeholder engagements, including C-suite, operations, procurement, and technical teams.
Market & Partnership Growth
- Strengthen relationships with integrators, OEMs, 3PLs, and technology partners.
- Identify new verticals, market opportunities, and strategic alliances.
- Monitor competitive landscape and emerging automation trends.
Required Experience
- Proven background in intralogistics, automation, or material handling (minimum 7–10 years).
- Strong systems-selling experience, ideally with projects £10m–£50m+.
- Demonstrable success leading and growing sales teams in a technical or automation environment.
- Track record of winning complex, multi-stakeholder automation programmes.
- Strong commercial acumen: pricing strategy, contract negotiation, margin management.
- Experience working across UK & European markets (Nordics a bonus).
- Comfortable operating at senior level with customers, partners, and internal leadership.
