Sales Director – National Direct Sales - Home Improvements

UK Wide | Field-Based | Home Improvement | Investor-Backed Business

We are working exclusively with a high-growth, investor-backed home improvement business that is entering an exciting new phase of national expansion.

Following significant growth, the business has transformed its sales model and built a 30+ person nationwide direct field sales operation in a remarkably short period of time. The opportunity is now to appoint an exceptional Sales Director to take ownership of the national sales function and build a best-in-class direct-to-consumer sales operation.

The Opportunity

This is a pivotal appointment with genuine scope to shape the future direction of the business. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board and investors, you will take full responsibility for the national field sales operation.

Your initial priority will be to establish a strong regional management structure across the UK, with Regional Sales Managers responsible for teams of Sales Representatives.

You will be responsible for developing the people, sales methodology, performance culture, incentives, training, reporting and systems required to support continued growth. This is not simply a role for someone who can manage a sales number — we are looking for a builder who can create structure, develop people and scale a high-performing sales organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the national direct field sales operation.
  • Build and lead a regional sales management structure.
  • Recruit, develop and retain a high-performing nationwide sales team.
  • Set and deliver national, regional and individual sales targets.
  • Drive revenue, conversion, average order value and margin.
  • Develop commission structures, incentives and sales campaigns.
  • Establish a consistent sales methodology and operating rhythm.
  • Introduce structured national sales training and coaching.
  • Improve lead management, appointment conversion and sales productivity.
  • Establish clear KPI, CRM and performance reporting.
  • Use data, technology, automation and AI to improve sales effectiveness.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Operations and Customer Service.
  • Provide commercial reporting and insight to the CEO, Board and investors.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
