Basic: £80,000 - £85,000 / OTE £40,000 - £50,000 + Additional LTIP + Benefits

The company are a leading global SaaS business with over 8,000 UK customers. Award winning, and with high customer retention, they are now looking for a Sales Director to help lead sales in the SMB segment. This core part of their business has consistently strong results, however, a vast proportion of the SMB market remains an untapped opportunity for growth. This role is to lead the SMB sales function including a mixture of Internal Sales, Junior AE’s and Account Executive individual contributors.
They are looking for an experienced Sales Director to own sales performance across SMB spanning both new customer acquisition and growth within the existing base. This is a numbers first leadership role: you'll live in the pipeline data, run rigorous forecasting and performance management, and directly manage a team of individual sales reps to hit and beat target.

You'll bring structure, discipline, and pace to how they sell to the largest segment of the UK market and build the coaching and performance frameworks that turn a group of reps into a high-performing sales unit.
Responsibilities
- Own the sales number end-to-end for the SMB market — new business and existing base — against monthly, quarterly, and annual targets
- Build and maintain accurate pipeline forecasts, tracking volume and value through each stage from opening to close
- Run weekly and monthly performance reviews against target, conversion rate, activity levels, and average deal value
- Report sales performance clearly to the VP Sales and wider leadership, with the numbers behind every trend
- Set and manage targets and KPI’s
- Work with Marketing on lead volume, quality, and speed-to-contact from trials and enquiries
- Continuously refine sales process, objection handling, and qualification criteria based on what the data shows is working
- Set targets for base penetration and renewal conversion
- Directly manage a team of sales reps with varying levels of experience, setting clear individual targets and KPIs
- Run structured 1:1s, coaching, and pipeline reviews
- Own hiring, onboarding, and ramp planning for new reps as the team grows
- Define and maintain the dashboards and reports that make individual, team, and segment performance visible daily

Experience Required
- Proven track record leading both phone-based and field based individuals, target-driven sales team, ideally new business and existing base
- A genuinely numbers-first approach — comfortable living in pipeline, conversion, and performance data daily
- Direct people management experience with individual sales reps, including performance management and coaching
- Experience setting and holding a team to individual and team KPIs, with a track record of hitting targets
- Strong command of CRM and sales tooling
- Experience selling to SME sector for a SaaS company; high-velocity
- Familiarity with FinTech would be highly desirable such as accountancy, professional services, or RegTech, corporate finance office solutions, KYC/AML
- A structured, disciplined approach to sales process, forecasting, and reporting
- Excellent stakeholder management across Marketing, Customer Success, and Commercial leadership
