Role Overview

The Sales Director will lead Métier's global sales function, defining and driving the commercial strategy that will underpin the next phase of the brand's growth.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for translating Métier's brand ambition into a clear, disciplined and scalable sales strategy across every channel. Working closely with the Founder, the Global Marketing Director and the senior leadership team, the Sales Director will define how Métier grows revenue, deepens relationships with its clients and builds a profitable presence across key international markets.

The role will look after all three of Métier's sales channels – retail, e-commerce and wholesale – with the Retail Director, Head of E-commerce and Wholesale Manager reporting into the Sales Director. The role will also oversee private client and clienteling, and sales planning and forecasting. The Sales Director will ensure that every client interaction reflects Métier's luxury positioning, while identifying new opportunities to grow revenue, margin and customer lifetime value.

As a senior leader within the business, the role will bring together commercial rigour, operational discipline and a deep understanding of the luxury client, balancing ambitious growth with the protection of brand equity and the priorities of a growing global business.

Key Responsibilities

Global Sales Strategy & Planning

  • Define and lead Métier's global sales strategy, aligned with the brand's long-term vision, commercial objectives and international growth ambitions.
  • Establish clear revenue priorities across markets and channels, creating a cohesive global commercial framework for the brand.
  • Own the annual sales plan and budget, setting targets by channel, market, store and category, and translating them into clear plans for each team.
  • Lead sales forecasting and reporting, working closely with Finance to deliver accurate, timely visibility of revenue, margin and performance against plan.
  • Shape the channel mix as the business grows, balancing retail, e-commerce and wholesale to maximise profitable growth while protecting Métier's positioning.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities across markets, channels, categories and client segments, building clear business cases for investment.
  • Act as a senior commercial guardian, ensuring that pricing, discounting and distribution decisions protect the brand's desirability and margin.

Retail & Store Performance

  • Line manage and develop the Retail Director, who leads the store teams, providing clear direction, support and coaching.
  • Guide the retail strategy and performance standards for Métier's two stores in London and New York as the store network grows.
  • Support the Retail Director on the commercial planning, launch and ramp-up of new store openings, including location assessment, sales forecasts, staffing plans and opening targets.
  • Agree store targets and KPIs with the Retail Director, including sales per square foot, conversion, average transaction value, units per transaction and client capture, and review performance regularly.
  • Support the Retail Director in building a consistent global standard of luxury selling and client service across all stores.
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure stores are used as meaningful brand destinations and integrated into campaigns, events and activations.
  • Recognise and grow the role of stores in driving brand awareness and online sales, measuring and maximising their halo effect.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
