Sales Director
We're hiring a Sales Director to own our wholesale business and grow it. You'd be building a UK team selling carrier services and colocation across the UK and Europe, reporting directly to the founder.
Rocket Fibre owns and runs its own carrier-grade network: 38+ internet exchanges, 15+ facilities across the UK and Europe and 18,000+ FTTP subscribers on the residential side. The wholesale business sits on top of that: IP transit, wavelengths and dark fibre, Layer 2 access, IX connectivity, plus white-label mobile through our MVNE platform.
Alongside that we're bringing a data centre online in Gloucestershire. Six suites, a multi-megawatt grid connection, with capacity for several hundred racks. It's on our own network, which means we can sell space, power and connectivity as one product rather than reselling someone else's floor. First suite is anchored and the rest is open to fill.
So the wholesale proposition isn't just circuits. It's transit, transport, colocation and interconnect from a single operator, priced by people who own the assets.
This isn't a maintenance role. You get the network, real pricing flexibility, and the mandate to build a team behind you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The role is UK-based and so is the team, but the market isn't. We're selling into all 15+ facilities from day one. We're not cold-calling markets we don't serve we're already in the buildings and on the exchanges our European customers use, which means the conversation starts from "we're in your building" rather than from scratch.
What you'll do
- Own the wholesale number across transit, waves, dark fibre, L2 access and IX connectivity
- Take the Gloucestershire data centre to market: single racks through to private suites, sold with connectivity attached
- Bring your existing carrier, ISP, CDN, content and channel relationships and convert them
- Set pricing strategy with the founder, with room to move on deals that make sense
- Recruit and run a UK-based team selling into both UK and European markets
- Represent us where it counts: Capacity, ITW, Connected Britain, NetUK, RIPE
What we're looking for
- A track record selling wholesale connectivity or carrier services, with numbers you can talk through.
- An existing book in the sector and the credibility to open doors in week one.
- Comfort talking to network engineers, not just procurement. You don't need to configure BGP, but you should know why it matters.
- Someone who wants to build a function, not inherit one.
- A second European language is useful but not required.
- Full UK driving licence, a passport valid for European travel, and the existing right to work in the UK. We're not able to sponsor visas for this role.

What this isn't
Account management against a plan you didn't write. If you need a large brand behind you and a fixed price list, this will frustrate you.
Package
£80,000 to £100,000 base depending on experience, plus uncapped commission, pension, life insurance and private health cover.
Commission is uncapped and paid on the full stack: circuits, colocation and interconnect. We own the infrastructure, so there's real margin to share rather than a reseller's slice of someone else's.
Process
An initial call, then a longer session in Corby to meet the team and walk the network. We'll come back to every applicant either way.
Direct applications only. We're not using agencies for this role and won't respond to speculative approaches from recruiters.
