Sales Director (Retail & Print)

Location: Cramlington, Northumberland

TEXO Recruitment is recruiting for an ambitious and commercially driven Sales Director to join a well-established print and logistics business based in Cramlington.

The Opportunity

This is a high-impact role for a true new business hunter. Working closely with the CEO, your primary focus will be identifying and securing new retail accounts while driving the company's commercial expansion. Supported by an experienced customer service and operations team, you'll be free to concentrate on winning business and developing long-term client relationships.

As the business grows, you'll have the opportunity to build and lead your own sales team, with a clear pathway into a Board-level leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Identify, target, and secure high-value print and logistics contracts within the retail sector.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation through to negotiation and contract completion.
  • Develop relationships with procurement, marketing, and operations decision-makers across retail businesses.
  • Generate and maintain a strong pipeline of new business opportunities.

Commercial Strategy

  • Work closely with the CEO to develop and implement commercial growth strategies.
  • Produce accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
  • Collaborate with customer service and production teams to ensure successful onboarding and delivery for new clients.

Business Growth

  • Act as the lead commercial representative, driving business development activities.
  • Develop the long-term strategy for expanding the commercial function.
  • Support future recruitment and development of a dedicated sales team as revenue targets are achieved.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven success selling into the retail sector, ideally within print, POS, packaging, logistics, or related B2B industries.
  • Demonstrable experience winning new business and developing key accounts.
  • Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with a genuine passion for business development.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to wider business growth.
  • Leadership potential with the ambition to progress into a senior strategic role.
