Sales Director - Manufacturing Sector

About the Role
We are working with a leading global technology and consulting organisation that is looking to appoint an experienced Sales Director to drive growth across the UK and Ireland Manufacturing sector.
This is a senior sales role focused on building a qualified opportunity pipeline, closing new business, and generating revenue through the sale of IT services into major Manufacturing clients and prospects.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior business leaders, client stakeholders, and internal bid/solution teams to identify new opportunities, shape compelling propositions, and develop strong commercial business cases.
This role would suit a proven Manufacturing sector sales professional with a strong track record in IT services, outsourcing, consulting, or technology-led solution sales, and the ability to build trusted relationships at senior level.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and develop qualified new business pipeline across the UK and Ireland Manufacturing sector.
- Generate new business sales, sales closures, and revenue in line with annual targets.
- Sell a broad range of IT services into key Manufacturing clients and prospects.
- Support the creation and implementation of sales strategy, approach, and objectives for the target market.
- Use existing networks and develop new senior business relationships to identify qualified opportunities.
- Lead bid and solution teams to develop compelling propositions and business cases.
- Manage bid review, approval, sales reporting, and pipeline management processes.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships across target accounts to maximise sales opportunities.
- Position the value of IT services, outsourcing, and consulting-led solutions to Manufacturing organisations.
- Develop innovative approaches to deal structures and commercial solutions.
- Work effectively across virtual teams, multiple locations, and international stakeholders.
- Maintain strong awareness of IT industry trends, market developments, and technology implications for Manufacturing clients.
- Travel to offices, client sites, and occasionally internationally as required.

Skills & Experience Required
- Proven business development, sales, or account growth experience within the Manufacturing sector.
- Strong track record of selling IT services, outsourcing, consulting, or technology-led solutions.
- Experience generating qualified opportunity pipeline, sales revenue, and new business wins.
- Strong understanding of the UK and Ireland Manufacturing market.
- Experience competing and winning deals in a competitive IT services or consulting environment.
- Strong consultative selling and solution sales approach.
- Ability to build relationships with senior business leaders and decision-makers.
- Experience leading bid solution teams and shaping compelling client propositions.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to structure complex deals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and customer management skills.
- Target-driven, ambitious, and motivated by new business success.
- Comfortable working across virtual teams and multiple geographies.
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred.
