Technical Sales Director
We are seeking a commercially driven and technically minded Technical Sales Director to join our team. As Technical Sales Director, you will combine strong leadership, technical expertise, and commercial insight to develop winning sales strategies, build lasting customer relationships, and deliver tailored compressed air solutions that add real value for our customers. Working closely with clients and internal teams, you will identify new business opportunities, maximize existing accounts, and ensure the successful delivery of solutions that meet both operational and commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a sales strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives and long-term vision.
- Drive the expansion of service contracts and capital equipment sales across existing and new customers.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to uncover new business opportunities.
- Position March Compressed Air as an industry-leading trusted advisor, delivering tailored compressed air solutions and exceptional customer service that sets us apart from the competition.
- Lead, motivate, and develop an external sales team of 6 and an internal sales team of 10.
- Set performance targets and ensure delivery against revenue, profit, and growth objectives.
- Monitor sales performance through KPI analysis, forecasting, and pipeline management.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies that maximize profitability while remaining competitive.
- Own CRM management, reporting, and data integrity to support business decision-making.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
- Lead negotiations on framework agreements, service contracts, and commercial terms.
- Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and issue resolution.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen existing customer relationships and develop new business.
- Utilize your technical expertise to provide tailored compressed air solutions that deliver value to customers.
- Promote energy efficiency initiatives, compressed air optimization programs, and sustainability improvements.
- Support customers through system audits, performance reviews, and sustainability reporting.
- Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions, customer forums, and technical seminars.
- Work closely with Operations and Finance teams to ensure sales commitments align with operational capability and profitability targets.
- Support the successful delivery of projects from quotation through to completion.

Skills, Experiences & Qualifications
- Proven experience in a senior technical sales or sales leadership role within industrial engineering.
- Strong experience within the compressed air sector is essential.
- Demonstrable experience leading and developing both field-based and internal sales teams.
- Excellent understanding of compressed air systems, installations, maintenance, and service contracts.
- Proven track record of solution selling and securing complex technical projects.
- Strong commercial acumen, including pricing strategy, margin management, forecasting, and contract negotiation.
- Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines and sales performance.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience working for a compressed air OEM or distributor.
