I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The role
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role to develop that sales function and run it. You will be bringing outside expertise into a business that is rightly proud of its journey, so a consultative, considered approach matters as much as commercial drive. You will shape the processes, build and lead the team, look after and grow the established customer base, and open up new business across the private and public sector. It is a broad remit with real ownership, the whole of sales, built and led by you, with the backing to get it right.
About you
You are a rounded, professional sales leader who has built or reshaped a sales function before. You lead by example, you develop people, and you think commercially about how a business grows, not just how a deal closes. You are comfortable coming into an established business and earning trust, respecting what has been built while bringing the structure and best practice to take it to its next peak. Your sector background is open; it is your leadership, your commercial thinking and your fit that matter most.
