Metafora Search is partnered with an established global logistics business seeking an experienced Sales Director to drive commercial growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for new business generation, growing existing customer accounts and managing the Inside Sales team. The business provides a broad portfolio of logistics solutions, including e-commerce fulfilment, cross-border logistics, air freight, ocean freight and European road services.
📍 Location: Manchester or London
The Role
- Lead and develop the Inside Sales team to achieve new business targets.
- Identify and secure new customers across the company’s full logistics offering.
- Review the existing client base and increase revenue through account development and greater wallet share.
- Work with Branch Heads, Tender and Sales teams to grow the UK air and ocean freight products and improve profitability.
- Increase export volumes in support of the company’s global procurement strategy.
- Build strong relationships with international sales teams, particularly across Greater China and the USA.

About You
- 5+ years’ sales experience, including at least two years in a senior sales position.
- Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, logistics or a closely related industry.
- Proven experience delivering new business growth and developing existing customer accounts.
- Previous responsibility for leading, coaching or managing a sales team.
- Experience scaling a business, branch or commercial function with measurable results.
- Commercial understanding of strategy, account management, financial performance and operations.
