VP Sales / Sales Director – Technology – Cambridge

Location: Cambridge (Hybrid)
Salary: £110,000 - £120,000 basic + OTE / Equity

About Our Client

Our client is a venture-backed technology scale-up with an established product and growing customer base. Following further investment, they are looking for a senior commercial leader to build and scale the next stage of their go-to-market function.

The Role

Working closely with the CEO and leadership team, you will take ownership of new-business revenue and sales strategy. You will build a scalable sales organisation, recruit and develop high-performing commercial talent, improve forecasting and establish repeatable processes for winning larger customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own sales strategy, new-business revenue and commercial execution.
  • Build, lead and develop Account Executive and business development teams.
  • Define territories, targets, compensation structures and sales processes.
  • Develop enterprise go-to-market strategy and strategic account plans.
  • Coach teams on complex sales cycles, negotiation and deal execution.
  • Establish accurate forecasting, pipeline governance and performance reporting.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product and Customer Success leadership.
  • Support board and investor reporting on commercial performance.
  • Personally support strategic enterprise opportunities and major negotiations.

Skills & Experience

  • Significant leadership experience within B2B technology, SaaS or software sales.
  • Proven experience building and scaling successful sales teams.
  • Strong record of delivering enterprise revenue growth.
  • Experience implementing structured sales methodologies and forecasting processes.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and commercial negotiation skills.
  • Experience within a startup or scale-up environment is highly desirable.
  • Comfortable working with founders, boards and investors.
