Sales Director – AdTech / Agency Sales
Location: London
Salary: £70k–£80k base + uncapped commission
OTE: £105k–£120k+
I’m working with an independent AdTech business looking to add a genuinely strong agency seller to its London commercial team.
Despite the Sales Director title, I’m not necessarily looking for someone who already has that title on LinkedIn. I’m much more interested in whether you can personally generate revenue, create opportunities, and sell a sophisticated digital proposition properly.
If you’re currently a Senior Sales Manager, Agency Sales Lead, Account Director, or similar and feel ready for more ownership, this could be a very good next move.
The business sits at the more technical end of the AdTech market. Its proposition combines media, data, and technology to build solutions around individual client challenges, rather than simply selling standard inventory.
That means this won’t suit someone who relies purely on relationships and a strong black book. You need to be commercially good and comfortable getting into the detail of what you’re selling.
The Role
You’ll own a defined portfolio of UK media agencies, combining existing relationships with plenty of opportunity to create incremental revenue.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Personally owning and delivering against a revenue target.
- Growing spend across existing agency relationships.
- Creating new briefs and opening new commercial conversations.
- Building relationships across planners, buyers, digital leads, and senior agency stakeholders.
- Spending real time in agencies rather than managing everything from behind a laptop.
- Taking ownership of opportunities from initial conversation through brief, solution, presentation, and close.
- Working closely with internal client, strategy, and data teams to build strong commercial responses.
- Maintaining a disciplined pipeline and forecasting accurately.
There are established agency relationships in place, so you’re not starting from zero, but this is not an account-management role either.
They want somebody who will actively create business.
Who I’m Looking For
The strongest candidates will probably have:
- A strong track record selling into UK media agencies.
- Clear evidence of revenue they have personally generated.
- Genuine new-business / hunter capability.
- Experience growing existing accounts as well as winning new opportunities.
- Good knowledge of digital media, programmatic, data, or AdTech.
- The ability to understand a technical proposition and turn it into a simple commercial story.
- Strong agency relationships, ideally across different levels rather than solely senior leadership.
- The confidence and independence to own a patch without needing heavy management.
- Plenty of ambition left — this needs someone who still enjoys being in-market and selling.

Independent agency relationships would be useful, but they’re not essential.
Equally, I’m not overly focused on job titles. A brilliant Senior Sales Manager with the right track record would interest me more than a Sales Director whose role has become predominantly management or account farming.
Package
- Base: £70,000–£75,000 typically, with flexibility towards £80,000 for someone particularly strong.
- OTE: Roughly £105,000–£120,000+ depending on base and performance, with uncapped commission.
This is a London-focused, agency-facing position and will suit someone who genuinely likes being out in the market.
If this sounds close to what you’ve been looking for, apply or drop me a confidential message. I’m happy to share more detail on the business, proposition, and agency patch once we’ve had an initial conversation.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
