This is a hybrid role working 3 days in the office (City of London location) and 2 days working from home.

Role Purpose

To be the face to market for the BTL & Bridging sales function, leading the BDM team to deliver against relevant targets across all distribution channels. Help to develop the Banks offering in the Unregulated finance and investment market, including refurbishment, auction, BTL and related Bridge-To-Let products.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the BTL and Bridging management team to identify opportunities, develop and execute the Unregulated Bridging and BTL growth initiatives to grow our share of this sector, initially through broker relationships.
  • Contribute to budget plans in support of delivering sustainable growth and target returns.
  • Together with the BTL & Bridging Senior Management Team, manage and develop appropriate routes to market, operating policies and procedures to maximise growth. Ensure that staff within line management operates within these procedures.
  • Work with colleagues to help develop the operational effectiveness of BTL & Bridging, including the enhancement of the digital strategy.
  • Create and maintain a customer focused culture with an emphasis on good customer outcomes.
  • Develop and support the wider team to build capabilities and achieve high levels of employee satisfaction in line with a high-performance culture.
  • Exercise judgment in accordance with the Bank’s expectation as reflected in its policies and procedures.
  • Support wider members of the sales team to understand the products and assist in the structuring of proposals to be recommended for approval, agreeing/optimising pricing in line with mandates and guidance.
  • Develop marketing initiatives to maximise lending and broker sentiment.
  • Utilise Management Information to identify growth opportunities.
  • Undertake regular 1-2-1s with direct reports and provide appropriate guidance, support and coaching as necessary.

Skills and Experience sought

  • Significant business, credit experience and knowledge of Bridging and BTL and in particular, the non-regulated Bridging market and lending for refurbishment.
  • Technical and legal knowledge of the infrastructure, process and procedures and documentation required of the product sets.
  • Highly developed commercial and financial awareness.
  • Ability to lead, manage and develop a high performing team.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking.
  • Self-motivation and a drive to succeed.
  • Proactive and can-do attitude, desire to take ownership of matters and deliver solutions.
  • Attention to detail.
