Hi,
I’m Barry, the founder of Brandbeet. I’m looking for the first person to take full ownership of sales at the agency.
To be clear, I’m not planning to build a traditional sales department with ten salespeople and several layers of management. This will most likely remain a team of one: you.
You’ll own the sales function, but you’ll also do the work. That means deciding how we approach sales, building the pipeline, opening conversations, developing relationships, shaping proposals, closing work and continually improving how we do things.
There isn’t an established sales machine waiting for you. There are no SDRs filling your calendar, and I won’t be handing you a detailed playbook to follow.
What there is, though, is a good design agency with strong work behind it, a clear opportunity to grow and a founder who wants to build that next stage alongside someone who really understands sales.
You’ll work directly with me and have a genuine say in how Brandbeet develops. That includes how we position the agency, what we offer, who we work with and where we take the business next.
I’m looking for someone senior who has done this before, trusts their judgement and wants to make the role their own.
What I’m Hoping You’ll Bring
First and foremost, you’ll have successfully sold substantial design agency work into the US market. That combination is non-negotiable. I’m not looking for someone whose experience is only in SaaS, media, recruitment or a general marketing agency. You need to understand what it takes to sell design.
You’ll have experience selling meaningful retainers, larger project engagements or, ideally, both. You should understand the longer buying process, the importance of trust and the challenge of selling work that doesn’t always fit neatly into a standard package.
Our ideal clients range from Series A companies beginning to invest seriously in design through to established enterprise organisations. You should be comfortable moving quickly with a founder or marketing lead at a scale-up, as well as navigating multiple stakeholders, procurement and longer decision-making processes within an enterprise.
What I’d like you to bring:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
- The ability to build your own pipeline from scratch. You won’t be joining a well-oiled inbound operation, so you should be comfortable identifying opportunities, opening doors and creating momentum yourself.
- The appetite to own sales personally. This isn’t primarily a management position, and success won’t mean immediately hiring a team beneath you. You’ll be the person driving the work from beginning to end.
- Strong commercial judgement. You should know which opportunities are worth pursuing, how to qualify them properly and how to move a good conversation towards a decision.
- Credibility with senior clients. You’ll often represent Brandbeet in important conversations, so you need to be comfortable discussing business challenges, not simply presenting a list of services.
- Real autonomy and accountability. I want someone who spots what needs doing, makes sensible decisions and gets on with it. We’ll work closely together, but I don’t want or expect to manage your every move.
- An interest in the wider agency. Although sales will be your responsibility, I’d love to find someone who is curious about positioning, services, operations and what makes the whole business work.
- AI fluency or curiosity. If you already use AI intelligently for research, prospecting, pipeline management or other parts of business development, that would be a real advantage.
A Way of Selling That Fits Us
You should be ambitious and comfortable asking for the business, but you should also be honest, thoughtful and focused on building relationships that last. Integrity isn’t something we’re willing to trade for a quick win.
We’re good, straightforward people, and we want to work with someone similar. We care about doing good work, treating people properly and being honest about what we can and can’t do. Many of our client relationships have lasted for years, and quite a few clients have become friends along the way.
That doesn’t mean we’re uncommercial or afraid to sell. It means we want to win work in a way that leaves everyone feeling good about the decision.
What You’ll Get from Me
- A strong salary, paid in USD.
- Full ownership of sales, with the trust and autonomy to decide how the function should work.
- A genuine seat at the table, with meaningful input into the direction of the agency.
- Direct access to me, without layers of management or internal politics.
- Real influence over Brandbeet’s positioning, services, growth and commercial development.
- A fully remote working environment built around trust, accountability and good communication.
- The opportunity for the role to become much broader over time.

I’ll bring my knowledge of the agency, our work, our clients and where I think the opportunities are. I’ll be involved, available and willing to help. I also know that the right person will bring experience and judgement that I don’t have, and I genuinely want that.
Over time, I can see this person becoming one of the most senior people at Brandbeet. For someone interested in broader leadership, there could be an opportunity to take on more responsibility for the agency as a whole, not only sales.
That isn’t a fixed promotion plan or a promise of a particular title. It’s simply a genuine possibility. I’d like to meet someone who could eventually help me run Brandbeet and perhaps, one day, take the lead in doing so.
For now, the job is clear: own sales, create opportunities and help us grow.
Interested?
Rather than asking for a traditional cover letter, I’ve put together a short application form. It asks about the design agency work you’ve sold, your experience in the US market and your commercial track record.
You don’t need to reveal confidential client information or arrive with a fully formed plan for the agency. I’m simply looking for enough detail to understand what you’ve done, how you think and whether it would be worth having a proper conversation.
The form should take around 10 minutes to complete. I’ll personally read every serious application. If there seems to be a fit, the next step will be an informal conversation directly with me.
If you’re interested but unsure whether your experience is quite right, the main test is simple: have you personally sold substantial design agency work into the US? If so, I’d be happy to hear from you.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
