Job Description
This is a hands-on sales leadership role. You'll be accountable for revenue: your own, and the wider pipeline's. You'll professionalise how we sell as you go, but you'll do it by running deals and working with clients, not by designing a process and handing it over. There is no end date on that work, and no point at which it becomes someone else's.
The Challenge
- Selling sits almost entirely with our most senior people, who are each juggling live accounts, two or three major pursuits, a proposition, and everything else in the pipeline. The last of those is the one that can slip.
- Deals become aspirational. We're good at intellectualising a client's problem and enjoying the conversation, and less consistent at agreeing what happens next and by when.
- Our wins close quickly. Our losses take roughly four times as long to admit. That is a lot of energy spent on opportunities that were never going to land.
- Our CRM discipline is improving slowly, and our weekly sales meeting continues to suffer for it. There's a push on to fix this, and you'd support this.
- On top of internally-generated opportunities we have a lead generation engine feeding good, well-documented prospects into the top of the funnel. The discipline that gets applied to that first meeting by our lead generation partner isn't consistently carried through the rest of the cycle.
Owning the Pipeline
This is the core of the job and where most of your week will go.
- Take ownership of the whole portfolio, not just the tip of the iceberg. The tier of pipeline that currently gets attention last is the tier where you'll make the biggest difference.
- Triage what's really there, concentrate effort on the opportunities most likely to close well, and disqualify the rest quickly and without drama.
- Shepherd deals through to close, holding the commercial thread across many opportunities at once and chasing the actions that keep them moving.
- Build and maintain relationships across our client base in your own right, not only through our Engagement Directors.
- Brief our Engagement Directors properly before client sessions, lead those meetings yourself, and make sure each one lands on agreed next actions rather than simply a good discussion.
- Support to spot and land the next opportunity on accounts where we're already delivering well.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Your Own Deals
You'll carry your own origination target alongside the pipeline remit: your network, our marketing-qualified leads, and opportunities you scope yourself where they play to your background. There's a practical reason as well as a commercial one. You can't credibly drive rigour across the business without modelling it in your own pursuits.
Coaching and Building Depth
You'll be senior, and you'll be empowered to hold the whole management team to account on process, data and cadence, regardless of who reports to whom. The standard rises steadily and through live deals, not as a programme with an end date, and it is judged on conversion, velocity and deal size rather than on the processes themselves.
- Coach our Engagement Directors into better selling habits, by example rather than mandate, working alongside them on real opportunities rather than in the abstract.
- Extend that coaching to our Engagement Lead community, so that selling becomes a genuinely shared capability rather than something a handful of people carry.
- Build a layer of commercial capability below the top table that can sustain performance without us.
- Bring cadence to how we run opportunities, through reviews, close plans, continual re-qualification and honest go/no-go calls, held as working sessions on live deals rather than governance for its own sake.
- Give people a data-led way to qualify that takes the heat out of killing a deal, and lift CRM and meeting-outcome discipline opportunity by opportunity until we have numbers we can forecast from.
- Shape how we sell from what demonstrably works, and advise on the capability we should build towards over time: how much comes from dedicated sellers, how much from rigour applied to senior consultants already in the market.
Where We Play
Our revenue splits roughly evenly across three areas: tooling (we're the UK's leading Halo partner, and work with ServiceNow in secure and safety-critical environments), operational services (multi-year service integration and management contracts with significant annuity revenue), and consulting (operating model design and implementation, including AI and product operating models).

Defence is our strongest vertical, working directly with the Ministry of Defence and alongside most of the major UK primes. We also have a strong track record in financial services and insurance, higher education, central government and health, supported by good framework coverage including G-Cloud, Digital Outcomes and Specialists, Technology Services and the Management Consultancy Framework.
What You'll Bring
- A strong personal closing record in consultancy or complex technology services. You've carried a number and hit it.
- Experience raising sales performance in businesses that lacked rigour, and doing it while selling yourself rather than from a standing start alongside.
- Genuine breadth. You're comfortable holding many opportunities at once across sectors and propositions rather than going deep on one.
- Ruthless, data-led qualification instincts, and the confidence to tell senior colleagues a deal isn't real.
- Natural relationship-building. You enjoy client contact and would be frustrated by a role that kept you away from it.
- The credibility and personal authority to hold senior people to account and shift behaviour without being their line manager.
- Hands-on CRM rigour. You keep your own pipeline immaculate and expect the same of others.
- A bias to action. You measure yourself on deals closed and pipeline converted, not on process designed.
- Comfort building a sales capability from a small base rather than inheriting a large one.
- Interest in using data and AI tooling to make the sales function sharper. We're already applying it and want to go further.
Nice to Have
- Experience in defence, financial services, public sector or other regulated markets.
- Background in a private-equity backed or investor-backed business.
- Familiarity with framework and bid-based routes to market.
