What You’ll Be Launching
As Director, International Sales, you will lead Slingshot’s customer-facing sales organisation for the international business, with accountability for building durable customer relationships, converting qualified opportunities into bookings, and delivering Annual Recurring Revenue growth. You will own customer account strategy, the qualified near-term sales pipeline, forecasting, and sales execution from qualified opportunity through proposal, negotiation, close, and account growth.
You will lead and develop Slingshot’s Account Executives and Account Managers, establish disciplined sales practices, and provide clear visibility into customer engagement, pipeline health, bookings, and revenue performance. Working closely with the Director, International Business Development, you will convert strategically shaped opportunities into customer commitments while ensuring the voice of the customer informs Slingshot’s product, programme, and growth decisions.
Your Mission (Should you choose to accept it)
- Own and grow trusted relationships with government and commercial customers, developing a deep understanding of their missions, priorities, challenges, and long-term objectives.
- Lead the international sales organisation with accountability for bookings, Annual Recurring Revenue, qualified pipeline conversion, forecast accuracy, and customer growth.
- Own the qualified sales pipeline through approximately a 12-month horizon, maintaining clear visibility into opportunity value, probability, timing, milestones, risks, and next actions.
- Develop and execute account strategies for priority customers, including comprehensive engagement plans, call plans, stakeholder maps, and growth objectives.
- Lead customer engagement from qualified opportunity through proposal, commercial negotiation, contract award, renewal, and expansion.
- Serve as the voice of the customer within Slingshot, bringing actionable customer insight to product, engineering, programme, finance, and leadership teams.
- Translate Slingshot’s technical capabilities into clear, compelling customer value propositions tied to mission and operational outcomes.
- Build awareness and demand through strategic prospecting, customer education, executive engagement, outreach, and targeted market activity.
- Lead Slingshot’s participation in relevant customer events and conferences, ensuring activity is aligned with account plans and measurable sales objectives.
- Own CRM discipline and data quality, including HubSpot accuracy, opportunity stages, activity tracking, pipeline reporting, and account information.
- Forecast bookings and revenue performance, partnering with FP&A and leadership on planning, budget assumptions, risks, and expected outcomes.
- Lead regular pipeline, forecast, and business reviews, providing leadership with clear insight into performance, changes, risks, and actions.
- Own the International Portal sales process and ensure consistent execution across the sales organisation.
- Partner with the Director, International Business Development on major pursuits, using campaign strategy, competitive intelligence, partnerships, and capture plans to improve sales conversion.
- Provide customer insight, commercial input, value propositions, and sales positioning into capture plans and bid strategies.
- Participate in bid and opportunity reviews to confirm customer readiness, commercial strategy, sales ownership, Position to Win strategy and a credible route to close.
- Work across product, engineering, programme delivery, finance, legal, and Campaigns and Partnerships to maintain alignment throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Lead, coach, and develop the international Sales Team, setting clear expectations, providing feedback, managing performance, and building commercial capability.
- Scale the sales organisation, operating cadence, tools, processes, and capabilities as customer demand and revenue expectations increase.
- Develop a long-term view of strategic customer relationships, identifying how Slingshot can continue to expand the value it provides over multiple years.

Pre-flight Checklist
- Significant experience leading enterprise, government, defence, aerospace, complex technology sales, or an equivalent commercial function, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated success owning sales targets and converting complex opportunities into bookings, recurring revenue, or long-term customer growth.
- Experience building and maintaining senior customer relationships across government, commercial, institutional, or similarly complex accounts.
- Strong understanding of complex sales cycles, including qualification, customer engagement, proposal development, negotiation, contracting, and close.
- Demonstrated experience managing sales pipelines, forecasts, account plans, bookings, and revenue reporting.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot or equivalent systems to drive disciplined sales execution and accurate reporting.
- Strong commercial judgment and the ability to assess customer value, likelihood of close, timing, risk, competitive position, and resource requirements.
- Ability to communicate complex technical products and solutions clearly to technical, operational, commercial, and executive audiences.
- Experience partnering effectively with business development, capture, partnerships, product, engineering, programme delivery, finance, and legal teams.
- Demonstrated people-management experience, including coaching, performance management, setting expectations, and developing sales talent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior customers and executive leadership.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, high-stakes environments while maintaining disciplined execution and accountability.

Bonus Cargo
- Experience selling into the space, defence, intelligence, national security, civil government, or related sectors.
- Experience with software, data, SaaS, analytics, command and control, space-domain-awareness, or satellite-operations solutions.
- Experience selling into international government or defence markets.
- Existing relationships across government, commercial space, defence, or aerospace customer communities.
- Experience leading Account Executive and Account Management teams in a scaling organisation.
- Familiarity with government procurement, RFP processes, framework agreements, or multi-year contracting structures.
- Experience working alongside dedicated capture, business development, campaign, or strategic partnership teams.
- Experience building repeatable sales operating models, dashboards, forecast cadences, and performance metrics.
