Sales Director – IT Services / BFSI
UK – Flexible Location
£120,000–£130,000 Base + Uncapped Bonus
We are working with an established international IT services organisation looking to appoint a Sales Director to drive enterprise growth across the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector throughout the UK and Europe.
This is a senior, commercially focused role combining new-logo acquisition with strategic account development.
We are looking for an experienced IT services sales professional who can open new enterprise relationships, build senior-level networks and sell complex technology solutions – rather than someone whose background is predominantly SaaS, software licensing or product sales.
You will work closely with international solution and delivery teams, including onshore and offshore resources, to develop propositions that address complex client technology challenges and convert them into significant, long-term relationships.
The Role
The role is approximately 70% new business hunting and 30% farming/account development, with responsibility for developing a significant BFSI pipeline across the UK and Europe.
You will:
- Identify, prospect and win new enterprise BFSI accounts
- Develop and manage a healthy pipeline of mid-to-large enterprise opportunities
- Own the sales process from prospecting and qualification through to proposal, negotiation and close
- Build and execute go-to-market strategies for new business and pipeline generation
- Sell complex IT services and software solutions into Banking, Financial Services and Insurance organisations
- Develop opportunities across CRM, Customer Experience Management, Platform Engineering, Data Analytics, Integration, Cloud and digital transformation
- Expand and grow existing enterprise relationships where appropriate
- Engage with C-level, senior technology and business decision-makers
- Understand client business and technology challenges and develop appropriate solutions with internal teams
- Work closely with onshore and offshore solution and delivery teams
- Develop long-term relationships that generate repeat and expanded business
- Develop channel, partnership and multi-point lead-generation strategies
- Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting and opportunity information within CRM
- Represent the organisation at relevant industry events, meetings and trade shows
- Travel across the UK and Europe as required
- Deliver against booking, billing and profitability targets

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What This Role Isn't
This is not primarily a SaaS, software licensing or account management position.
The successful candidate will need genuine experience selling complex IT services and technology solutions, understanding how those solutions are designed and delivered through a combination of onshore and offshore teams. You should be comfortable creating opportunities rather than relying on an inherited account base or established inbound pipeline.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a significant BFSI market across the UK and Europe within an established international IT services organisation.
You will have the opportunity to combine new-logo acquisition, strategic account development and consultative solution selling, working alongside experienced international solution and delivery teams to win and grow substantial enterprise relationships.
