Sales Director EU & Rest of World, Life Science Instrumentation, Distributor Management, International Commercial Strategy

Basic salary: £115k to £145k

Total compensation: £203k

A Sales Director EU & Rest of World opportunity has emerged with an innovative technology business operating at the cutting edge of scientific imaging. This is a senior commercial leadership role spanning direct sales across Europe and a broader international partner network. The Role

Based 3 days a week in the Oxford office, the Sales Director EU & Rest of World will take full ownership of bookings performance across European and international territories, leading both a direct sales function (approx. 9 people) and a network of distributors and commercial partners. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Setting and executing territory strategies
  • Driving pipeline discipline through CRM and forecasting processes
  • Personally supporting major strategic opportunities

You will also coordinate go-to-market approaches across advanced and emerging markets, identifying where direct, distributor, or partner-led models are most appropriate.

The business serves a global customer base spanning biopharma, biotech, and academic institutions, and is at an exciting stage of commercial expansion. It offers a genuinely differentiated product and a culture that values scientific rigour alongside commercial ambition.

What experience does the Sales Director EU & Rest of World need?

  • At least ten years of quota-carrying commercial experience within life science instrumentation or scientific capital equipment, with a strong track record of delivering against targets
  • Proven experience leading European and broader international commercial markets, including managing geographically dispersed sales teams
  • Demonstrated channel and distributor leadership, with the ability to set clear performance expectations and hold partners accountable
  • Strong capabilities in forecasting, strategic account management, and negotiation, plus a willingness to travel extensively across the UK, Europe, and Asia Pacific
