A well-established engineering business with a strong reputation for technical excellence is seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead its commercial function during an exciting period of growth and investment.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a key leadership role with full responsibility for sales strategy, revenue performance, customer development, and team leadership. You will play a pivotal role in driving sustainable growth, strengthening long-term client partnerships, and building the commercial structure needed to support future expansion.
This opportunity would suit a commercially driven sales leader with experience in the engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or technical solutions sector who is looking to make a genuine impact within a respected and growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the company’s sales and business growth strategy
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team
- Drive revenue growth through both new business acquisition and key account development
- Oversee forecasting, pipeline management, budgeting, and sales performance reporting
- Identify and secure new market opportunities across the engineering sector
- Build strong relationships with major customers, stakeholders, and strategic partners
- Implement robust sales processes, KPIs, and commercial governance
- Work closely with senior leadership to support long-term business objectives

Requirements
- Proven senior sales leadership experience within the engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or technical sectors
- Strong track record of delivering revenue growth and leading successful sales teams
- Experience managing complex, solutions-based sales cycles
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Confident operating at board and senior stakeholder level
- Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on leadership approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
