The Opportunity
As we continue to grow our European business, we are seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead commercial growth across the aerospace and energy sectors.
The Sales Director will be responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy for the company's materials testing and related technical services across Europe. This is a senior commercial leadership position requiring an individual who understands both technical materials testing and complex B2B sales.
The successful candidate will have an established network within aerospace, energy, and associated industrial markets and will be comfortable engaging with senior engineering, procurement, quality, R&D, and executive stakeholders.
The role will combine strategic sales leadership, business development, key-account management, and team leadership, with a strong emphasis on profitable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership
- Develop and execute the European sales strategy for aerospace and energy materials testing services.
- Establish annual revenue, margin, and growth objectives and translate them into actionable sales plans.
- Identify new markets, customers, technologies, and applications that can expand the business.
- Develop strategies for both organic growth and expansion into new customer segments.
- Partner with Operations, Laboratory, Engineering, and Technical teams to ensure commercial opportunities align with operational capabilities.
- Develop accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting, and commercial performance metrics.

- Significant sales leadership experience within materials testing, engineering testing, TIC, laboratory services, or a closely related technical industry.
- Proven experience selling into aerospace and/or energy markets.
- Established relationships with aerospace OEMs, Tier suppliers, energy companies, or other industrial customers.
- Strong understanding of materials testing and associated engineering services.
- Demonstrated success growing revenue and developing new customers.
- Experience managing strategic accounts and complex sales cycles.
- Experience leading and developing sales professionals.
- Strong commercial negotiation and contract-management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and C-suite stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of CRM, sales forecasting, and pipeline management.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and internationally as required.
Experience with organizations such as Element Materials Technology, SGS, Intertek, Bureau Veritas, TÜV SÜD, TÜV Rheinland, Mistras, or comparable technical services organizations would be relevant.
