Are you an ambitious sales leader looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a fast-growing private healthcare organisation?
Compass Associates is recruiting for an ambitious and fast-growing private healthcare organisation to appoint a Sales Director. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused sales leader to take ownership of an established 17-person sales function and play a key role in delivering the organisation's next phase of growth.
The organisation is already experiencing significant growth, with revenue increasing year-on-year, and has a clear ambition to grow further.
The Opportunity
This is a key commercial leadership appointment, with responsibility for improving performance across the full sales pipeline and maximising the revenue generated from existing patient demand.
The organisation operates a distinctive sales model in which the individual who initially engages with a patient retains ownership of the relationship throughout the patient journey. The Sales Director will therefore have the opportunity to influence the entire commercial process, from initial contact and conversion into consultation through to the conversion of consultations into paid procedures.
Alongside the sales function, consultant management is an important component of the role. The successful candidate will need to work effectively with consultants and ensure that commercial objectives, patient experience and organisational standards remain aligned.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of sales performance, understanding the numbers, coaching teams and directly influencing revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall ownership of the sales and revenue function.
- Lead, manage and develop an established sales team of approximately 17 people.
- Improve conversion performance across the full patient sales journey.
- Analyse the existing sales pipeline to identify areas of underperformance and opportunity.
- Improve conversion from initial enquiry through to consultation and ultimately paid treatment.
- Establish and maintain clear sales performance standards and KPIs across the team.
- Monitor conversion rates, response times, contact rates and wider sales performance.
- Improve the consistency of sales performance across the team.
- Develop a high-performance sales culture with clear accountability for results.
- Coach and develop team members to improve sales capability and individual performance.
- Ensure the contact centre is responding effectively to patient enquiries and maximising opportunities within the existing pipeline.
- Review and improve sales processes, systems and ways of working where appropriate.
- Work closely with the wider leadership team to identify and deliver commercial growth opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with marketing to ensure sales and marketing activity is aligned and that lead generation is being effectively converted.
- Take a holistic view of the patient journey and identify opportunities to improve commercial performance at each stage.
- Manage relationships with consultant surgeons and other clinical stakeholders to support commercial performance and patient experience.
- Ensure commercial objectives are balanced with a high-quality patient experience and appropriate organisational standards.
- Provide clear reporting and insight to senior leadership on sales performance, conversion and revenue opportunities.
- Help create the commercial momentum required to support the organisation's longer-term expansion plans.
- Continuously identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve the profitability of the existing operation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
