Sales Director – HVAC & Building Technologies
Salary: £110,000 + Car/Allowance + Executive Package
Location: UK - South
We are partnering with a well-established and growing technology-led organisation seeking a commercially astute Sales Director to drive UK growth and lead commercial sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and manage direct, channel, and technical sales teams within heating, ventilation, and air conditioning markets.
This opportunity is particularly well suited to a senior sales leader from the HVAC, building services, or environmental controls sector looking to broaden their impact into integrated automation and smart building solutions.
The Opportunity
This is a strategic leadership role with full responsibility for shaping and delivering the UK sales agenda. You will leverage your experience within HVAC and building technologies to expand into adjacent markets, positioning intelligent automation, controls, and energy-efficient solutions to a diverse industrial and commercial customer base.
Role Overview & Objectives
- Strategic Leadership: Shape and execute national or regional sales strategies, setting budgets, forecasting revenue, and aligning sales operations with business goals.
- Team Management: Build, mentor, and coach high-performing sales teams, spanning business development, key accounts, and technical pre-sales.
- Channel Development: Cultivate ecosystems involving distributors, installers, contractors, and M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) consultants.

Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Growth: Drive new business acquisition and protect market share across commercial, industrial, or residential sectors.
- Key Account Management: Lead high-level negotiations with major developers, corporate clients, and strategic partners.
- Process Optimization: Streamline CRM adoption, pipeline visibility, tendering precision, and bidding strategies.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activity, macroeconomic building trends, and decarbonization/renewable tech shifts.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in HVAC, building products, or engineered systems sales, including multi-tier leadership.
- Deep understanding of HVAC architectures, chillers, air handling, renewables, and hydronic systems.
- Proven strength in financial forecasting, strategic agility, talent development, and executive communication.
- Strong understanding of controls, BMS, energy management systems, or integrated building technologies.
- Demonstrable success in delivering revenue growth, winning major contracts, and developing key accounts.
- Inspirational leadership style with the ability to build and motivate successful sales teams.
- Commercially driven with a strategic mindset and hands-on approach.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and commercial audiences.
- UK-based with flexibility to travel nationally.
