Sales Director

Oldham, Manchester

Overview

Are you a Sales Director, Head of Sales, or senior Business Development Director with a proven track record of driving growth within the engineering, manufacturing, defence, marine, energy, or industrial sectors?

A well-established UK engineering manufacturer is entering an exciting phase of growth and is looking to appoint a commercially focused Sales Director to lead its future business development strategy and identify the next generation of strategic opportunities.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you will work closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team to drive revenue growth, develop strategic partnerships, and expand into new markets.

The Opportunity

As Sales Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing the company's long-term sales strategy and business development strategy
  • Building a sustainable pipeline of high-value opportunities
  • Securing new customers across engineering and industrial markets
  • Leading major bids and commercial negotiations
  • Developing relationships with OEMs, Tier 1 organisations, EPC contractors, and key industry stakeholders
  • Identifying new market opportunities and emerging technologies
  • Supporting future product development and manufacturing investment plans
  • Representing the business nationally and internationally

What We're Looking For

  • Degree qualified engineer or equivalent industry experience
  • 15+ years within engineering, manufacturing, or industrial sectors
  • Proven success delivering significant business growth
  • Strong background selling complex engineered products or technical solutions
  • Commercially astute with excellent negotiation skills
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and board-level decision makers
  • Strong business development and strategic sales experience
  • International sales exposure would be advantageous
