Sales Director – Business Consulting & Advisory
£80,000 – £100,000 basic | £200,000 OTE
£150,000 average deal value. Senior decision-makers. A proposition built around expertise rather than software.
That's the commercial environment you're walking into. Our client is an ambitious specialist consultancy looking for a proven new-business professional to grow its presence across Banking, Financial Services and Insurance.
This is a business with a clear growth trajectory and long-term value creation plan, targeting a potential exit within the next 4–5 years. There will be an opportunity to earn equity during your tenure, creating genuine alignment between performance and long-term financial reward.
The Company
They have the expertise. They have the delivery capability. They have the credibility. What they want now is someone who can turn that into serious new business. The proposition is compelling: high-value consulting and advisory engagements, an average deal value around £150k and a sales cycle of two to three months. You'll have the freedom to identify where the opportunities are, open senior-level conversations and shape solutions around genuine client problems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Why this is different
This isn’t a cold-start consultancy role. You’ll be entering a business that already has:
- Credibility with Tier 1/2 organisations
- Strong case studies within regulated markets
- A clear value proposition aligned to complex transformation challenges
Their ICP focusses on Tier 2, Challenger Banks, Fintechs and Building Societies, but they are equally capable of landing and expanding within global Tier 1 organisations.
The Person
We're interested in people who have sold high-value consulting, advisory or professional services into Financial Services. You might currently be a Sales Director, Business Development Director, Client Director, Growth Director or Client Partner. Your job title matters far less than your track record. You'll know how to create opportunities rather than simply manage them. You'll be credible with senior decision-makers and able to take a complex, intangible proposition from first conversation through to commercial agreement. Most importantly, you'll be a genuine new-business person. Someone who enjoys the chase. Someone who can create a £150k opportunity where there wasn't one before. And someone attracted by the autonomy and earning potential of doing that inside a specialist, ambitious business rather than another huge corporate.
