St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, and Young Responders programmes).
Job Summary
Join St John Ambulance as a Sales Enablement and Performance Manager and play a key role in driving commercial performance across our Sales and Business Development function. You will lead the development and implementation of our sales enablement strategy, using insight, coaching, effective processes and high-quality sales tools to help our teams maximise performance and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Working closely with colleagues across Sales, Business Development and wider functions, you will help build a high-performance culture where teams are equipped, supported and accountable to achieve their objectives. You will oversee key performance metrics, pricing and contract management, while developing the capability, tools and resources needed to support sustainable commercial growth.

About You
- You have significant experience in sales enablement, sales operations, commercial performance or a similar environment, with a strong understanding of what drives successful sales teams.
- You have experience developing and implementing sales strategies, processes and tools that improve performance and deliver measurable results.
- You are confident using data and insight to identify trends, understand performance and turn information into clear actions and recommendations.
- You have strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to inspire and develop colleagues and create a culture of high performance and accountability.
- You have experience managing or influencing pricing, contracts, performance metrics and other commercial processes.
- You are an excellent communicator and relationship builder, able to work effectively with stakeholders across different teams and levels of an organisation.
- You are commercially focused and able to balance customer needs with organisational objectives and financial performance.
- You are organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- You are passionate about developing people and creating consistent, effective ways of working that enable teams to perform at their best.

About the Role
- Lead the development and implementation of the sales enablement strategy across the Sales and Business Development function.
- Use performance data, insight and commercial intelligence to identify opportunities to improve sales performance and outcomes.
- Develop and maintain consistent sales processes, frameworks and ways of working across the function.
- Lead the development of high-quality sales tools, content and resources that equip colleagues to engage customers effectively and maximise commercial opportunities.
- Oversee key sales performance metrics, ensuring clear reporting, accountability and action against agreed objectives.
- Support effective pricing and contract management processes to maximise commercial performance and ensure consistency.
- Work closely with sales leaders and managers to identify capability gaps and deliver effective coaching, support and development.
- Lead and inspire colleagues to create a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability and customer success.
- Ensure sales teams have the tools, knowledge, insight and support they need to maximise sales outcomes.
- Work collaboratively across Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Finance and other functions to improve commercial performance and customer experience.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and ways of working to create greater efficiency and consistency across the sales function.
- Monitor the effectiveness of sales enablement activity and continuously improve the approach based on performance, feedback and insight.
