About the Company

Tightly is the operating system for modern retail: an AI merchandise planning platform for retailers and brands. Our machine learning forecasts demand at SKU and channel level, then reconciles it with the top-down plan, so the buy lands closer to real demand. Season and range planning, merchandise financial planning, WSSI and open-to-buy, allocation and replenishment, pricing and markdowns all run in one system, with AI agents taking on the work that used to live in a planner's spreadsheet. Our customers include Marks & Spencer, Unilever, Speedo, Kipling and Brompton, across apparel, footwear, beauty, luxury, sporting goods and home. On average they cut working capital tied up in stock by 22%, lift inventory turns by 1.5x and sustain a 98% in-stock service level. We connect to the systems retailers already run, from Shopify to SAP, across ERP, e-commerce, POS, WMS and EDI.

About the Role

We are hiring a Sales Engineer for the UK. You will be London-based, report to the VP of Sales and work alongside our Account Executives on every deal in the UK and Europe. You are the technical half of the sale. A merchandising team shows you how they plan today, hands you their data and lists the systems it lives in. You show them, on their own numbers, what Tightly would change. You run the discovery, scope the integration, build the proof of value and stand behind it in the room with the buying director, the head of planning and the CFO.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Responsibilities

  • Run technical discovery: how the retailer forecasts, builds the buy plan and WSSI, manages open-to-buy, allocates and replenishes, and where the data for each of those lives
  • Build and deliver demos and proofs of value on the prospect's own data, whether that is a Shopify export or a SAP extract
  • Scope integrations with ERP, e-commerce, POS, WMS and EDI (Shopify, SAP, Dynamics 365, Salesforce and whatever else is in the estate) and own the technical answer in the deal
  • Translate merchandising and finance goals into a recommended configuration and rollout: full-price sell-through, turns, working capital and service level
  • Own security, data and procurement questionnaires, with engineering behind you
  • Lead the technical side of onboarding in the first weeks after signature, then hand over cleanly to Customer Success
  • Feed what you hear back into product: what buyers ask for, what breaks in a proof of value, what wins
  • Travel to customers across the UK and Europe, and to our New York office a few times a year

Qualifications

  • 4+ years as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant or implementation consultant in B2B software, or as a planner or analyst who moved into a customer-facing technical role
  • Retail domain depth in merchandise planning, demand forecasting, buying, allocation or replenishment, gained at a retailer, a brand or a vendor
  • Hands-on with data: SQL, expert-level Excel or Sheets, and the ability to read an API doc and map fields between two systems
  • Experience running discovery, demos and proof-of-value engagements alongside a sales team, using a value-selling approach
  • Confident presenting to senior merchandising and finance leaders
  • Right to work in the UK
